Finally, I can reveal the latest member of the Lels' Guitars family!

Meet Pedro, made for Pedro!

The specs:

- 25.5" roasted maple neck, treated with Danish Oil.
- Locking Tuners
- Gotoh Locking Nut

- 2 Piece hand-carved walnut body, personally selected and uniquely shaped, heavily contoured and part-chambered, finished with complex layering of Angelus Leather Dyes, finished with Danish Oil and Langlow Wax.

- Seymour Duncan Pegasus & Sentient high output Humbuckers

- 1 Volume, 1 Tone, CTS 500K potentiometers, Push - Push on both: Volume Up = Inner Coil Splits, Tone Up = Outer Coil Splits, Both Up = Parallel Wiring

- 3 Way Toggle Switch (mounted on a Colombian Peso Coin)

- Kill Switch

- Pure tone Multi Tag jack socket

- Gotoh GE1996T Floating Tremelo

And a whole lot of sanding. This build meant a lot to the recipient, and it was an honour to build it for him. I shall miss it being on the workbench, but I look forward to seeing (and hearing!) the instrument where it belongs; on stage!

The finishing process is one I enjoy immensely, although why it's called 'finishing' I don't know. It's far from finished at this point, as the pictures in the comments show. It's an intricate, organic process led in part by how the wood reacts to the colours I apply. This often means sanding back. I don't mind doing this because for me, it's important to listen - and look - at what the wood is telling me.

Routers are, on the one hand, extremely useful bits of kit.

On the other, I loathe them. They're noisy, are able to instantly ruin a project, and are violently dangerous.

And this guitar demanded a lot of routing!

Without doubt, my favourite part of the process, especially when I'm essentially working freehand.

With no template to follow, and no measurements to apply (well, apart from the extremely precise bridge placement, but that comes later, I can just follow the wood, until it looks right. At least to my eyes. I know its right because the wood told me!

Bit more sanding and she'll be about there I reckon!
