What authentication process is used?
At RELOF Private, authentication is not a single step. It is a multi-layer process designed to maximise trust and reduce counterfeit risk.
1- When an item is submitted, it first undergoes an initial screening using advanced authentication technology trained on millions of luxury data points. This technology helps analyse materials, craftsmanship, construction details, serial information, proportions, and other brand-specific characteristics, supporting the review process and helping identify potential inconsistencies.
2- Then, an additional independent third-party authentication review is conducted after the sale. This specialist authentication provider is trusted by leading luxury businesses and marketplaces worldwide, including companies such as Farfetch.
3- Before reaching the buyer, the item is again reviewed by our team through a detailed human-led assessment. Depending on the brand and category, this may include evaluating provenance, condition, hardware, stitching, date codes, serial numbers, materials, craftsmanship, and overall consistency with known brand standards.
No authentication process should rely solely on AI, receipts, or human judgement alone. We believe the strongest approach combines technology, expert review, provenance assessment, and independent verification.
We believe authentication should never rely on a single photo, receipt, AI scan, or opinion.
Instead, we combine technology, expert review, and independent verification to create multiple layers of trust.
Because luxury should feel exciting, not uncertain.
