One thing I learned from my public speaking class really stayed with me:
There’s no such thing as perfect.
We always hear, “Practice makes perfect.” But what if, instead, practice makes progress? ✨
I’ve always been someone who wants things to be perfect. But sometimes, that also kept me stuck — overthinking, waiting for the right moment, and worrying too much about what other people might think.
But I also believe there’s a right time for everything. Sometimes, something inside you just suddenly switches back on. That drive gets reactivated, and you finally feel ready to do the things you’ve been wanting to do for so long.
That’s what I’m learning to embrace now — to listen more to myself, to what genuinely brings me joy, and to just do it.
I’m applying this not only to public speaking, but also to my creative business and other aspects of my life.
Let it flow. Make mistakes. Take note of what can be improved. Try again. Because when we’re too focused on perfection, sometimes we miss the joy and authenticity of simply doing, learning, and growing.
Maybe you don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. Maybe you just need to start when that drive inside you says, “It’s time.” 💕
Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes progress. ✨
