The Importance of Namibia's Public Markets To The Local Community

Public markets were built all over the country to help small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Small business owners and entrepreneurs were not interested in selling their products and services from these markets, before the pandemic.
Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, sellers were mandated to begin selling from the markets.
This led to an increase in sales, because the community were recommended to buy from these safe public markets.
According to Aaron Zaretsky, these markets is the most effective projects created.
It creates jobs.
Many public market sellers end up owning their small business. Since running costs are low and rent could be cheaper, they tend to make huge profits.
It creates many entrepreneurial opportunities. Public markets help to increase consumption of local agricultural products and supports local manufacturers.
Markets also keep all businesses in one place. It gives the customer an easy shopping experience.

FNB INSTALLS A STATE OF THE ART ATM MACHINE AT THE ENGEN SERVICE STATION IN EENHANA
The Engen Service Station in Eenhana has an FNB ATM machine. The machine is located in a strategic location to help local FNB customers, drivers heading to the Zambezi Region, Kavango East and Kavango West. The machine has made life easier for local residents of a nearby location who had to walk to town to withdraw money. With more residents aware of the new addition, they drive to the service station to transact, avoid the long queues in the Eenhana CBD’s ATM’s.
FNB continues to innovate and finding ways to help its local clients. The time one would spend in the queue to deposit or with draw is now reduced. The bank recommends that customers download the FNB App to transact. In the App you can buy or pay almost anything. Pay DSTV, buy Airtime, Electricity etc. Or use cell phone banking.
It is a recommendation we should all heed and especially now that social distancing is required to fight against the corona virus pandemic.
