This week, I’m nursing two buckets of blooms — alstroemeria and strawflower — in a warm sunny window.

Magdalene’s wedding is 7 days away, and I need every stem to open right on cue. Too early and they’ll be past their best by the big day. Too slow and they won’t be ready at all. So I watch, I adjust, I coax them along — a bit of sun, a bit of patience, a lot of gently negotiating with nature.

It’s a small, quiet part of the process, but it’s one of my favourites. ☺️
