The Live Births Bill that is being introduced into the Federal Parliament is based on data that doesn't reflect the true reasons babies are born live after terminations.

Anti-abortion activists want you to believe this is a common occurrence, but the example they use are actually a departure from normal practice, which is why the parents were upset.

I don't need to imagine - I can tell you exactly what would happen if you were allocated to care for a woman having an abortion.

You can do your job, or you can conscientiously object - either way you are protected as a health professional.

The anti-abortion crowd has no other option than to lie about what happens in healthcare because they know there are proper guidelines and protocols that keep everyone safe.

Don't believe the lies. Listen to the facts.

Getting the Stillbirth Baby payment for social abortions if healthy babies has been a lie the anti-abortion groups have been spreading for over a year now.

It's true that those families that have an intentional abortion are entitled to apply for the payment, but it is because those intentional abortions are for fatal fetal abnormalities. Those families also deserve financial support when they need to take time off to grieve the loss of being parents.

The anti-abortion activists never actually make it clear that's what they want to talk about when they go into the street to "change hearts and minds" about abortion.

It's always framed as an innocent chat or a quick question about human rights that quickly spirals into monologue about how third trimester abortions are done.

This person with the pink hair handled the attempted gotcha moment perfectly by refusing to engage once she worked out where it was heading.

When it comes to reproductive rights, you can't say that you support it when you only support one aspect of it, and pretend the other two fundamental points don't exist.

Reproductive rights are based on the choice to reproduce, as well as your rights once you've made that choice.

You cannot have one without the other.
