Two years ago today, we opened the doors to Make & Mend with a little idea, a lot of hope, and a vision to create a space where our local makers, artists and community could come together.

And WOW… what a journey these two years have been! 🥹

From the beautiful handmade creations that fill our shelves, to workshops, community nights, collaborations, markets and festivals… to receiving our very first arts grant and watching Make & Mend slowly grow into something so much more than just a little shop.

We have become a place to create, learn, mend, share, connect and belong. 🌿

And none of it would have happened without YOU.

To every creator who trusted us with your work, every customer who chose handmade, every workshop facilitator who shared their knowledge, every person who walked through our doors, told a friend about us, shared a post, attended an event or simply cheered us on…

Join Bina Van Haeften, Artist for a relaxing and creative morning as she introduces you to the beautiful art of wet felting.

In this 3-hour hands-on workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of wet felting while creating your own three-dimensional felt vessel using a resist—a fascinating technique that transforms soft wool into a sculptural piece of fibre art.

It's hard to believe it's already been 7 weeks since Handmade in the Region – Stories of Salt & Sand Arts Activation Program came to life at the 1770 Festival.

Now that the editing is almost complete, I'm so excited to finally share this first look back at what was a truly special weekend.

Watching this video reminded me just how much was packed into those two days—artists sharing their passion, people of all ages trying something new, conversations sparked over creativity, and a community coming together to celebrate our local talent through Stories of Salt & Sand.

Looking back, I'm incredibly proud of what we achieved together. This was Make & Mend Agnes Water's very first RADF-funded project, and it simply wouldn't have happened without our amazing artists, volunteers, the 1770 Festival team, our photographer and videographer, and every single person who stopped by to take part.

As we're now completing our final acquittal report for the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), I'd love to hear from those who visited us over the festival weekend.
