FISHING ALERT: if you have time get down to marlo, the salmon are in the lake. Catchable from the shore but best bet (we found) is trolling up and down the Marlo side of the first island. Nearly against the bank

I took the chance yesterday to stress test some of my lighter builds and man did they hold up! There’s something I love about catching fish on almost too light a gear. It’s such fun.

I was really happy with how my light, 3-8lbs blanks performed! You’ll hear me say in one of the clips “this rod isn’t it” not because it wasn’t working; but that I knew it was too light for the (then) 20 minute fight I was having with the 70cm salmon I ended catching (and releasing)

But like all fishing trips it had its.. moments. Got pics as I lost my hat, but unfortunately couldn’t snap pics of the fishing rod I lost as something pulled it over the edge of the boat into lake. 😭

So if someone happens to find a maroon fishing rod (some silver in the middle) with purple and green bindings, gold guides, cork handles and a missing butt cap around the Marlo area please let me know. If anyone finds it I will build them a beautiful custom rod for free as I’d really like this one back from the depths

Anyway i recommend everyone get out to Marlo and have some fun while they are on the bite!

Another custom project done! 🙂

Coming from a long line of Collingwood supporters, doing this job might be seen as an act of utter betrayal.

But here we pride ourselves on making sure that regardless of football loyalties; you get a beautiful fishing rod that’s both made to last and is uniquely yours.

Big thanks to Ren at Crunden-Smith Furniture for custom building the benches for my new work room. Thank you for being so accomodating, from designing my plans, to finding the right materials and then to bring it all together, you’ve done a great job. Very happy with how easy I’ll be able to move my machine and supports as i work now! So big thank you again!

With the last piece of my workroom in I can finally start bringing you all some amazing designs with exceptional quality.

Thank you again to everyone who has helped me and supported me along the way. It’s been a great journey with much more hopefully to come! :)

Because I had these reels made the cost difference for me between the 3000 and the 6000 is small, a few dollars.
