*PRESSING PAUSE* Hey friends, just a small personal update. 💛

There are a number of people in my life who I love and care for deeply who are walking through some pretty significant challenges at the moment, across both family and friends.

I'd love to be there for them, and I thought I could juggle it all, but I really can't!

So, for the time being, I’ve decided to press pause on Instagram until after the school holidays - Monday 5th October.

I’m hoping this space will help me to bring a little more light, hope and love to their world. 🙏🏽

🕯️Until then:

📦 Orders placed between Mon 21st - Mon 28th September will be processed after the 28th (once we return from a small getaway).

🥳 Wow!! Made it to the other side of an incredibly fun weekend at

The entire place was buzzing with live music, delicious food, beautiful stores, friendly customers and so many creatives.

Shout out to:
💛 My beautiful friend Marlene who supported me for the entire weekend.
🧡 Her fab husband Merv who helped me pack the car afterwards.
💚 The lovely Belinda from and for gifting some delicious scrolls to get through the afternoon!

❤️ My dear husband Shane .b.robertson who minded the kids pretty much the whole weekend, and has constantly supported me in this creative endeavour.

🩷 And finally - shout out to all of YOU who showed up, offered such generous feedback on the candles and cards, and made purchases for you and your loved ones. I am so so grateful 🙏🏽✨🫶🏽

It was a huge weekend for us all, but I returned with a full and grateful heart 🤗

And somewhere in the middle of it all, we need space to slow down and recharge too.

A warm bath. A quiet room. A candle lit at the end of the day.

These moments aren’t indulgence - just gentle reminders that rest has a place in our lives too.

Designing this market stall for The Design Exchange has been such a fun process already - thinking through the layout, palette, and finishing touches to evoke the feeling I hope the space creates - calm, warm and inviting.

A younger version of me wouldn't have believed this was possible 🥲

This collection - and the ecommerce photography behind it - represents new creative boundaries I've crossed.

Never in my life did I imagine collaborating with an artist as incredible as Susan Nethercote, nor did I think I’d one day create a candle collection that felt this beautiful, refined and true to the vision I’ve carried for so long.

For years, I’ve held the goal of creating candles that could confidently sit alongside brands I’ve always admired.

Seeing this collection brought to life in various forms feels like a milestone moment.

From the artwork, to the vessels, to these stunning images - every detail reflects something I once thought was beyond my reach.

And honestly, none of this would have happened without YOUR support along the way. Every order, every kind message and every person who has welcomed Simple Retreat into their home helped make this possible.
