Another sunny winter's morning in outback Queensland - perfect for welcoming Victoria, Amy & Jed from Channel 7's Weekender program to Bollon.

The team spent the morning filming with Bill on the banks of the Wallam Creek before heading off to Cunnamulla.

We love promoting our tiny town and send a big thank you to Weekender and Outback Queensland Tourism for arranging the visit 🙏

Bollon B&B is open and ready for bookings!!

Our historic Bollon post office building is now luxury studio style accommodation 🛏️🛋️ While we have kept many of the building's features, such as the original timber counter, the space now includes modern amenities such as a spacious ensuite, kitchenette, air conditioning, wi-fi, smart TV and coffee machine.

Decorated with colourful First Nations artworks and retro furniture you will feel immediately at home. Complimentary breakfast items are supplied and you can enjoy your morning cuppa on a private deck area overlooking the Wallam Creek.

Bollon B&B is perfect for couples but offers a sofa that converts to a comfortable double bed for those travelling with children. Pets are also welcome with prior arrangement.

Even Mary the Tasmanian Devil took a detour to Bollon on Guwamu/Kooma country on her recent "holiday" to visit our famous goolburri (emu) family 😉😉

Sounds like she has a lot of good things to say about our small town now she is back home on the Gold Coast 🙌

THEY'RE BAAAACCKK!!

Our Bollon goolburris/emus/"sexy chicks of Bollon" stopped by for lunch today 🙌
They are so polite they even sit down to eat 🍽️😁

With school holidays just around the corner remember we are only a day away! So load up the car, head west to Bollon and keep an eye out for our emu family - they are likely to pop up anywhere!

What an amazing day we had welcoming the fabulous Camerata Chamber Orchestra to Bollon 🎼🎻

Bill was honoured to be invited to provide a Welcome to Country and surprised the orchestra team with a special smoking ceremony prior to the performance 🔥

The orchestra enjoyed a bush tucker lunch after their fantastic show and took a little piece of country with them when they left, each with a set of handcrafted & decorated tilpinpa (clapsticks) by Guwamu/Kooma man Rodney Wharton.

We hope Camerata will be like boomerangs and visit Bollon again soon - we'd love to welcome them all back to Queensland's best kept secret 😉

We have been feeling the love in Bollon over the past few days 💛💛

MONDAY: we hosted our second visit from Fun Over 50 Holidays' Outback Recovery Tours. Their first trip around south west Queensland ten days ago generated more than $59,000 for our region. Thank you to all those travellers who have jumped on board one of these tours - it's been a joy welcoming you to Bollon! We are looking forward to seeing the third group of intrepid visitors on the big gold bus next week.

And an even bigger thank you to the team at Fun Over 50 Holidays for this amazing initiative to bring travellers to our snall outback communities 🥇
