My passion for colour and fabric began with traditional quilts and has developed into a unique style of micro Free Motion quilting and thread painting on my domestic Janome machine.

The Samford Quilt Show is on this weekend.
I’ve been lucky enough to have been asked to be the featured Textile Artist and my sewing machine is set up doing demonstrations of Free Motion Quilting.
I’ve also got some of my art quilts up on display, and it’s lovely to see them all hanging together.
I have had an amazing day today talking and laughing with so many lovely people.
The Show is full of eye candy quilts and a fabulous stage display of “Repurposed and Reimagined “ household items.
“Make it Sew” and “Butterfly Stitches” have pop up shops plus the Samford ladies have made so many quilts and craft items for sale.
The Samford Men’s Shed have the BBQ going for lunch as well as tea, coffee and cake are available.
Hope to see you there 👋🏻😊🎉

I pinch and a punch for the first of the month ..... and welcome to Spring 🎉🌷🪻🌺
August was a finishing and catching up month for me. After 2 months and 168 hours of designing and stitching my entry into the Qld Quilt Show.... I made the deadline for entries on the very last day 😮‍💨✅
Then it was onto catching up with my Great Barrier Reef blocks for July and August. 🤩✅ I chose a Stingray for Triadic (green dominant) and a Rainbow fish for Tetradic (magenta dominant). ✅🦑🐠🪸👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
And I have also completed a month of Zentangle drawings which I try to do each morning with first coffee.✍🏻✅
Now onto my stall preparation for the Samford Quilt Show.... just 12 days away. See you there 😊👋🏻

Woohoo 🥳 Time to sink into my comfy chair with a glass of w**e 🍷 and relax.
Today was the final deadline for entries into the Queensland Quilt Show…. And I have just made it 👏🏻🎉👏🏻
I can’t show you photos yet as all quilt entries still need to go through the judging process….. but I’ll share a tiny sneak peak 🫣🤭🤫.
I just calculated that I’ve spent about 168 hours over the past 6 weeks on this one and I’m very happy with the results. 😊🍷🍷🍷

I was having a coffee ☕️ this morning and enjoying the latest Quilters Companion Magazine …. When I saw a full page photo of my quilt “The Mycelium Connection”🤩…. Featured opposite this year’s AQC Challenge winner Caroline Simm’s winning entry “Together” (back in April in Melbourne).
I was honoured with this year’s ‘Viewers Choice’ Award 🎉🥂🍾…. And I didn’t know this picture was being published…. So it blew me away when I saw it this morning 🤩
Thank you to all who voted for my quilt💖💋

The top 30 AQC Challenge Quilts are traveling to the major Quilt Shows around Australia…. And will be on display at the Brisbane Convention centre in mid September at the Qld Quilt Show.

Can you believe it’s the 1st of August today🫪
I’m currently down with a head cold and chesty flu 🤧…. But still doing a quick Zentangle in the mornings with my first coffee. ☕️ 😊

I have been busy this past month working on my entry into the Qld Quilt Show. Sorry I can’t show pictures yet as it will be entered into a judged category. I’ve only got 3 weeks left to get it finished🥴

My “Alchemy” quilt top is FINISHED 🎉🥂🍾 … all 3,586 hexagons pieces hand stitched together. This mammoth project took me 13 months to stitch👏🏻🎉👏🏻. Next job is taking out all the thousands of papers.😂

Last month I lost my creative mojo 😞… and my moto became “be kind to myself”. So I playing in my tubs of fabric and made a huge Queen size ‘Opal Essence’ quilt top. FUN 🤩. I hand stitched all the coloured circles (needle turn appliqué) onto the black, grey and white diamonds which formed ‘Tumbling Blocks’. I’m happy with how it turned out and it’s now waiting in my pile of tops “to be quilted and finished” 🤩.

I spend my evenings hand piecing (EPP) in front of a fire 🔥 and watching TV 🍷, and my new “Spellbound” quilt is growing…. I’m now onto my 4th row 👏🏻🎉👏🏻. (30 blocks finished out of 112 in the pattern)

Also playing with some bunny embroideries in preparation for my upcoming stall at Art with Altitude in October. 🐇🐰💐
Stay warm and stay well my friends, happy sewing 😊
