THROWBACK THURSDAY - FARM FRESH CHRISTMAS TREES

Can you smell the pine? It smells like Christmas! This cute trailer on the local tree farm has a Christmas tree for every home...from tiny trees for cottages to towering trees for manor houses. Pick your own or choose one of the already cut trees, there are handy sleds to help you get them to the car. They deliver too in their gorgeous red truck.

THROWBACK THURSDAY - THE GARDENS @ FARNLEY MOOR COTTAGE

One of my favourite vignettes from 2024 is this one with Farnley Moor Cottage. It's a beautiful scene combining Farnley Moor Cottage with the Victorian Greenhouse and the colonial stone wall.

It includes a lot of little details; the new poinsettia planters plus some poinsettia pots, a wrought iron bench, a bird fountain, complete with bird in flight above. I chose not to include a figurine as it was difficult to photograph without hiding the little details, but 02930 Victorian Shopping Spree looked just perfect in there. I would love to visit these gardens in real life!

Tip Tuesday – Using Bench Figures

Bench figures are a “type” of figurine that are moulded in a "seated" position but not attached to a seat. They are a unique & versatile “seated” figurine that can be seated wherever you like in your village.

1. On benches. The many bench options in the Lemax range include park bench, patio bench, stone bench, double seated bench and plaza bench
2. On your staircase or on building stairs.
3. Porch swings on buildings
4. On the side of the water fountain.
5. On the edge of a bridge

The options are endless. Don’t think of them as just “bottoms for benchs”, they can be put anywhere that your village people might want to take a rest for a while! I use blu-tac or sticky dots to fix the bench figure in place when needed.... like for on the moped or the edge of the fountain.

I will not be ordering additional items to hold as stock, so if you are looking for a Glida sliding system, a Jagerndorfer ski lift or MyVillage landscaping materials, please consider placing a preorder to ensure it is available for you at villaging season.

Jagerndorfer is back again for another season at Villaging Downunder.

BUILDING A GLIDA SLIDING SYSTEM
Here's a video tutorial from the designers/developers of the Glida Platform One system. The original is in Italian, with no subtitles, so the audio has been removed, but you can easily see just how easy it is to build and the flexibility the system offers.
PlatformOne also has speed control so depending on whether your figures are walking, cycling, speed skating or downhill skiing you can adjust the speed.
