𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢: 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗽

Mining companies drill holes, send cores to the lab, and publish the results. We've plotted 300,000+ of them on the map, colour-coded by gold grade. Here's how to use them:

1. Turn on the "Drill assays" layer in the sidebar
2. Zoom into a goldfield area
3. Coloured dots appear. Warmer colours = higher gold grades
4. Tap any dot to see the details: who drilled it, when, what depth, and the grade

16 g/t at 12m depth? That's worth knowing. 0.01 g/t? Also useful - tells you where not to waste your time.

It's basically a cheat sheet of everywhere the mining companies already tested the ground for you. Free data, just hard to find until now.

This is why we added two satellite providers.

Same spot. Mapbox shows a forest. Google shows the forest has been felled - and now you can see the old tracks and ground disturbance that were hidden under the canopy.

Different providers photograph at different times. Mapbox captured this area before the logging. Google captured it after. One shows you trees. The other shows you what's underneath.

Here's how to switch between them:

1. Turn on the satellite layer in the sidebar
2. Two pills appear: Mapbox and Google
3. Tap to switch between them

Always check both. You never know what one provider is showing that the other isn't.

Google satellite is on the Fossicker and Digger plans. Mapbox satellite is on every plan.

New on Dig Here: 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 is here 🛰️

Ever zoomed into a spot on satellite and thought "I can't see a thing through that blur"? We've all been there. Different satellite providers capture imagery at different times, different resolutions, and different conditions. What looks like a green smudge on one provider might show you clear ground, old tracks, and disturbed earth on another.

That's why we've just added Google Satellite as a second imagery option alongside our existing Mapbox satellite. You can now switch between the two with a single tap right in the layer controls.

Why does this matter? Because when you're trying to read the ground before you drive three hours into the bush, every bit of clarity counts. Some areas Google has sharper, more recent imagery. Other areas Mapbox wins. Now you don't have to pick. Check both, find the one that shows you what you need, and layer it under your LiDAR terrain to plan your next dig.

Google Satellite is available now on the Fossicker and Digger plans. If you're still on the free plan, this is a good reason to upgrade. Combined with our 1m LiDAR terrain, drill hole assays, and prospectivity pins, you've got more data at your fingertips than most exploration companies had ten years ago.

Jump on the map and try it out. Toggle satellite on, then switch between Mapbox and Google. You'll be surprised how different the same paddock can look.
