Beyond The Willow Tree officially opened in September 2013 and was the very first artistry business of this kind in Australia, Inspired by the empowering & life changing birth of Melanie's third baby, Amber. It was here she felt an overwhelming desire to capture the very emotions and moments of this life changing experience & the pure love experienced of becoming a mother. Our aim is to create beautiful & timeless pieces which can be worn and passed on to generations to come. We only work with quality metals and settings to ensure your jewellery is something you love and will treasure forever. We are a 100% handmade service, which means everything you see within our store has been individually hand crafted and put together by Melanie. We also source some of our jewellery settings are from other artists who hand craft their pieces,this supports the growing number of women in small business.

Recently I read some comments made on Facebook saying that only synthetic Rubies glow. This is not true! Did you know natural Rubies glow under UV? And so do lab grown Rubies..
And as we only work with natural gemstones, here’s a natural Ruby I’m getting ready to set, under UV.

Rubies glow under UV light due to the presence of chromium, a trace element that gives rubies their red colour; when exposed to ultraviolet light, the chromium within the ruby absorbs the UV energy and re-emits it as visible light, causing a fluorescent glow
Our Rubies we use in our jewellery are purplish red, which is my favourite colour of Ruby!

Love a classic design, but want to make it something a little different?
We can include multiple inclusions into the one ring.
For example…
The two outer round stones could be 2 little milk stones with crushed white opal, followed by two very special cremation ash stones each side of the centre stone.
With the middle stone holding a loved one’s hair, or multiple children’s hair against a crushed opal and pearl shimmer backing stone.
The possibilities are endless 💖
