My mother always used to say, “When you’re moving furniture around, it means your inner world is in turmoil.” While I think she hit the nail on the head with that one, it doesn’t apply here. But if it did, we have all benefited from my catharsis! 😂

A little honesty from behind the counter ❤️

I hear so often how much people love this little shop — how much they love having it here, the things we stock, the window displays, and having somewhere a little different in town.

And I genuinely LOVE hearing that.

But I also need to be honest: small businesses can’t survive on love alone.

So if you love having Merchants here, please support it when you can. Pop in. Buy the birthday present here. Grab the little thing you’ve had your eye on. Tell a friend about us. Share a post. Choose a small local business when you have the choice.

You don’t need to spend a fortune. Lots of small purchases genuinely make a difference.

I love this shop and what I’m building here, and I would very much like to keep doing it.

So this is my little reminder: if there’s a local business you’d miss if it disappeared, please don’t wait until it’s gone to support it. And in keeping with encouraging people to come support MoM, shop days and hours will be extending end of September. Will be open today from 9am. ❤️

Unpacked, on display, and ready to go home with you.

Although, if I’m being completely honest, I’m secretly hoping they hang around the shop for a little while longer because I love them so much. 😭❤️

All the way from the Netherlands, these incredible figurines are handmade by Parastone - brings art home and they are even more beautiful in person.

There is only ONE of each figurine in store. Once they’re gone, they’re gone — and I honestly don’t know when I’ll be ordering them again. Probably not until summer.

Come and see them before someone else falls in love with your favourite. 👀

Merchants of Mostyn is CLOSED today 🥲

Your shopkeeper made the questionable decision to begin strength training this week and is suffering from the DOMS — Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness.

Apparently, when they say exercise is good for you, they leave out the part where two days later you can no longer roll over in bed without making involuntary noises. 😂

So rather than hobble around the shop looking like I’ve recently been hit by a small truck, I’m taking today to recover.

Back tomorrow, hopefully with functioning limbs. 🤞

Come check out the MoM window display of some of the epic $3000+ worth of lucky duck prizes that will be on offer at the Fringe Fundraiser on 5th Sept at Boomtown. Drinks, w**e, vouchers, art, sculptures and more!
