The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), with support from the Rural Fire Service (RFS), is planning a hazard reduction burn near Ocean Shores in Billinudgel Nature Reserve on Friday 14 August 2026.

Smoke will be visible to residents in Ocean Shores and Wooyung.
People vulnerable to smoke are encouraged to stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed to reduce exposure.

This burn has been identified by the Far North Coast Bush Fire Management Committee as a high priority burn, with the objective to reduce bush fire risk to the communities of South Golden Beach and Jones Rd.

We want to hear your thoughts around events and bookings at the hall, whether it’s noise, parking, cleaning, bond amounts, hiring fees, event types or anything else you feel is important, your feedback will help shape future Hall policies.
