✨ A little pinch-me moment for By the Brook Creations! ✨

Wow… the Premier of WA has one of my cookies! 🤯💛

When Michele and the incredible team at the Child Cancer Research Foundation approached me to create 450 Childhood Cancer Awareness Ribbon Cookies, I knew this was going to be a very special order.

Seeing those cookies at Parliament House today, being handed out to Members of Parliament and parliamentary staff — including Premier Roger Cook — is something I’m incredibly proud of.

But what makes this project even more special is knowing that these weren't just cookies. 💛

Each little gold ribbon cookie helped start a conversation about childhood cancer, the challenges faced by children and their families, and the importance of continued research, awareness and support.

That is pretty powerful for one little cookie. 🥹

A huge thank you to Michele and the entire CCRF team for entrusting me with such a meaningful project. Creating 450 cookies was my biggest sugar cookie order to date, but knowing the purpose behind every single one made all those hours of baking, decorating and packaging so incredibly worthwhile.

As a small local business, moments like this feel pretty surreal. To see something handmade in my little registered kitchen here in Darling Downs make its way to Parliament House — and into the hands of the Premier of WA — is definitely one of those “pinch me” moments. 💛

I’m so honoured that By the Brook Creations could play a small part in helping CCRF start these incredibly important conversations.

The cookies may be gone, but hopefully the conversations they helped start continue long after today. 💛🎗️

It might look like things have been a little quiet over here lately… but behind the scenes, it’s been anything but! 🤍

The last couple of weeks have been HUGE.

There’s been a lot happening personally, I spent Friday night helping out at our school disco 💃🪩, and in between it all I’ve been working away on a very special order.

This one is incredibly meaningful, and I feel genuinely honoured to have been trusted to bring the idea to life. 🤍 I can’t share too much just yet, but I am SO excited to show you when the time comes.

And did I mention it’s officially my BIGGEST sugar cookie order EVER?!

So while my socials might have been a little quieter, the By the Brook Creations kitchen definitely hasn’t been!

There are going to be a lot of cookies coming out of this kitchen over the next little while. 😂

This week included…

🧁 A last-minute 21st birthday cupcake order after another baker unfortunately let the customer down. With just one day’s notice, I was so glad I could squeeze them in and make sure their celebration still had something sweet! 💕

🌷 A beautiful tulip cookie bouquet, created as a special birthday gift.

🧁 Even more birthday cupcakes heading out to help celebrate another special day.

🍪 Cookies for EA Appreciation Week — a little sweet treat to say thank you to the amazing Education Assistants who do so much every day. ❤️

And finally… a HUGE thank you for all of your Father’s Day orders! 🥹💙

It's been a big week in more ways than one. 💛

Emotionally, it's been one of those weeks where life asks a little more of you, but creating has always been my happy place.

Among everything else, I had the pleasure of creating these beautiful cupcakes for a very special young lady and a joint birthday cake to celebrate my husband and my sister-in-law. 🎂✨

Behind the scenes, there has also been plenty happening! I've been busy preparing several cookie orders, and one has already been completed... but you'll have to wait a little longer to see it until after the event. 🤫
