Coming soon ✨

A new artist-designed cotton dress for children, developed from my original painted artwork and transformed into wearable art.

I’ve been experimenting with colour, proportion and the way an artwork changes when it moves from a flat surface onto a garment. This design combines purple, soft lavender-blue, orange and a small gold-toned trim — with a completely different colour story on the back.

This is still in my design and sampling stage, but I’m very excited to see this one become a real garment.

Would your child wear something like this? 💜🧡

I’m working through two versions of this 100% cotton cropped jacket, developed from one of my original artworks.

I’m leaning towards Version 1 with the blue-grey sleeves — I think it feels a little more grounded, wearable and connected to the blues in the artwork — but I’d love to know what you think.

Which would you wear: Version 1 or Version 2?

This is still part of my design and testing process, so your feedback really does help me decide which pieces are worth developing into samples.

Coming soon ✨

A new artist-designed long skirt from Maria Grujicic Studio, featuring original hand-painted motifs, bold purple and pale blue colour-blocked panels, soft blush details and a decorative hem border.

Designed as a wearable extension of my studio practice — original artwork translated into clothing.

This is an early digital product preview while I finalise the garment and order a sample.

COMING SOON — Artist-Designed Cotton Top

I’ve been listening carefully to feedback from people who have told me they would like more cotton and more considered fabric options in my wearable-art range.

I researched a large number of garments and suppliers to find a women’s top with the right combination of 100% cotton, comfort, breathability, a feminine cut and suitability for my artwork. This is the best option I have found so far, and the next step is to order and wear-test a physical sample before I make it available.

Although the finished design looks deliberately simple, there has been a substantial design process behind it — refining the original hand-painted heart artwork, testing scale and placement, comparing garment cuts and fabrics, and developing the cream, blush and indigo palette so that it coordinates with my new long skirt.

Once the sample has been tested for fit, comfort, fabric quality and print quality, I’ll decide whether it is ready to join the collection.

A little behind the scenes at home today. 🌿

I’m looking through the latest proof of Little Luna May — The Colours That Were Already There, page by page, checking all those tiny details that make such a difference.

And yes… I’m already making edits for another proof so that the finished book feels even more polished and professional. 😊

Because to me, the details matter.

It’s quite something to finally hold this story in my hands after spending so much time developing it.

Looking forward to presenting Little Luna May to the world. 💛

This morning was a lovely, calm Saturday at The Bookshop Darwin. 🌿📚

It was such a pleasure meeting all kinds of people and connecting through their stories and memories of Darwin.

One lovely visitor told me she remembered Totem Road and the old totem poles. I remember Totem Road as a place where black kites circled above us, cycads grew all around, and there was a special Kakadu plum tree — all memories that found their way into Mystery Plants & Trees: Adventures in the Ludmilla Bushblock.

I love how a book can open the door to shared memories of place.

A little studio preview…

I’ve been exploring how some of my original sculptural and mixed-media works might translate into art prints.

This is Fluid Life — an avant-garde creature-like sculpture developed through frottage, found materials, fabric and intuitive making.

I’m currently testing a matte print version before deciding whether to add selected works to the Maria Grujicic Studio collection.

I’m enjoying seeing the different parts of my practice — sculpture, wearable art, books, workshops and now possible wall art — beginning to sit alongside one another.

I’m here at The Bookshop Darwin this morning! 🌿📚
Come by, say hello, have a chat and discover Mystery Plants & Trees: Adventures in the Ludmilla Bushblock — a little Darwin story inspired by exploring, observing and wondering about the natural world around us.
I’ll be here signing copies and sharing some of the photographs, drawings and ideas behind the book.
And there’s a little drawing activity for children too. ✏️🌱
If you’re in Darwin City today, come and find me!
