There is *something to be said* for being juuuust slightly out of survival mode long enough to be in advocacy mode. They are two drastically different circles, so you can only imagine how great it feels to be out of one and in the other!

We’ve had two hospital free months in a row (wait - that feels momentous, hold the phone, I’m going to go and make a commemorative post about that…), which hasn’t happened since SEPTEMBER LAST YEAR!!

The reason I’m telling you this is because tonight I’m going to be a guest speaker at my local Rotary Club dinner to talk about our experiences with hearing loss and our beloved The Shepherd Centre

For a little moment I get to step into my (admittedly all too often neglected) role of POD (parent of Deaf child/s), my OG parent advocate role and one that I’m still very passionate about.

Thought I’d treat you to a photo I found in the archives of me and my tiny beautiful guy the day he got his first hearing aid at 2 months old, fresh out of NICU. Gosh - insert feelings here 🥹🥰
