It’s the little things.

I’ll choose a hand stamped logo over a shiny sticker, brown kraft paper over smooth white, old fashioned character over perfection.

Not because they’re any better than the rest, but because I want everything that leaves Avondale Floral Co. to feel a little bit like me.

A little rustic, a little romantic, and let’s face it - sometimes a little unhinged 😅

WHAT A DAY!! The very talented Kathryn of Southern Downs Qld weddings & events 🍃 asked if I’d join her in teaching this wonderful group of floral enthusiasts to create some pretty spectacular arrangements!

Of course, I was behind the camera in all these shots so there’s not a single video of me in here 😂 but that’s ok!

We had an absolute ball and everyone did an incredible job with their designs.

A huge thanks to Kathryn for having me along to share her bush floristry workshop. Another huge shoutout to Amanda of Glenelg Station for hosting us - what a beautiful venue! And I can’t forget to mention the ‘icing on the cake’ in the form of some pretty flowers from Niven Park Homestead 😍 to pop in amongst the natives. Just wow!

I can’t wait to see the shots that DNM Photography+Our Days took! I might even feature in some of them to prove I was actually there and did, in fact, help 😅

The ‘natives’ aisle at the flower market 🤤

There are some amazing colours coming through in the natives at this time of year!

Late Autumn right through to Spring is their peak flowering season, making it the perfect time to feature these stunners in your bouquet.

We can of course source natives at other times of the year, but prices can be higher and some varieties aren’t as readily available.

And the best bit? These blooms last for weeks! 🙌🏼

They also dry exceptionally well, so you can enjoy them in your home for even longer.

Getting married in 2027? If you’re a native flower lover, this is definitely your season!

As a florist, I rarely get to see a Lily in full bloom. They’re often added to arrangements closed and bloom for the customer to enjoy.

But today, today I got to witness the beauty of this absolute stunner and even on her own, the perfume she’s producing is just divine 🤤

How lucky am I to work with the most beautiful things Mother Nature can provide!

But in all seriousness - I don’t even think of it as “merch”, I honestly just wanted to create a ridiculously pretty floral trucker cap and thought maybe some of you guys might love it just as much as me!

So here we are. 49 caps available. $39 each plus P&H

If anyone knows my husband, you’ll know he’s pretty slack when it comes to gifts 😂 so you can imagine my absolute surprise when he arrived home on a random Thursday with a bunch of flowers for me!! I literally said - “who’s got flowers?”

I popped them straight in vase (after trimming the stems of course 💁‍♀️) and have been in ogling them ever since.

They’re a supermarket bunch, and of course there’s a running joke ‘never give a florist flowers from the grocery store’ but I do not care, they mean the world to me!

Then this morning he says “aren’t you going to do anything with them? Like, arrange them better?”

Ummmm say no more!

Setting up the Bloom Bar in my backyard, the only thing I’m missing is the flowers!

But if you can use your imagination for a second and picture this at your wedding… your bridal shower… or your 50th birthday party with your guests selecting their favourite blooms and creating the sweetest little posy to take home… what a fun idea right?!
