Let's talk about red flowers 🌹
If your bouquet has red blooms, here's something worth knowing: red usually doesn't stay bright red once it's dried.
Blair's roses went from rich, true red on the day to deep maroon, and some of the carnations went almost plum-black. It's a natural part of the drying process. The pigments in red petals concentrate and darken as the moisture leaves.
I think it's stunning. Against the creamy white roses it's moody, elegant and a bit vintage. But I always want my brides to know what to expect before they book, so there are no surprises.
A few things to know:
🌹 usually deepen to burgundy, maroon or plum
🌹Some varieties go darker than others, and it's hard to predict exactly
🌹Whites and creams tend to soften to ivory
🌹Like all natural flowers, preserved blooms will gently change over time, especially in sunlight
