EVERYTHING.
Maturing is realising that... 🧠
Although the 90s were an iconic time to grow up, it was also the peak era of marketing manipulation.
If a mega-corporation had enough money to market a processed product, they could convince an entire generation that:
🥣 Sugar-packed cereal was a "nutritious, balanced breakfast."
🛢️ Petroleum jelly (a literal byproduct of the crude oil refining process) was the ultimate skincare staple.
🧪 PFAS and synthetic forever-chemicals were totally fine to coat our cookware, lather on our bodies, and seep into our skin every single day.
We were told that "oil-free" meant clean, and that laboratory-made chemicals were superior to nature.
Spoiler alert: They weren't.
Realising that your skin doesn't need petroleum derivatives or synthetic fillers to thrive is a major rite of passage. For thousands of years before the 90s chemical boom, our ancestors relied on real, nutrient-dense ingredients, like grass-fed beef tallow, that actually mimic the skin's natural lipid profile.
It’s time to throw out the 90s chemical playbook. Your skin barrier deserves bioavailable, ancestral nourishment, not refinery leftovers.
I mean come on… eat from a triangle, nope try a circle, nope let’s flip it upside down! At some point you have to start putting your health in your hands, not the governments.
