Wow….what a week, what a day! 😜

Victor finished a saddle, then started another. 😊

Kate cut out some slobber straps to go with her plaited reins she makes for the shop. It looks scary because she is left handed but she is very good with her round knife. 😍

Katrina stripped some leather for seat welts for the next few saddles. 👏

Working as a team in our small business. 💕

Another customer saddle underway but was put on hold this weekend as we had a bit on!🤣

Friday night RG1 Show Cattle Presentation Dinner. Kate was awarded her Captains & State Representative Trophies as well as banner for 3rd place in Senior School Judging for the year. 🐮

Pip’s new saddle finished Friday. ✔️

Weekend spent making new stock & Kate put in some last minute training for a competition next weekend. 🐴

Lots of visitors on the front lawn, counted 9 last night on the back lawn. 🦘

Next Wednesday 26August 2026, Kate is again cutting her beautiful ponytail along with others in her Year 12 Cohort for the Cancer Council Ponytail Project. 💕

This isn’t the first time, and no doubt probably won’t be the last time, she has donated her hair for this wonderful cause. We all know at least someone who had been diagnosed with cancer of some form, and is battling or battled, or sadly passed. 😢

We haven’t posted in awhile…..life gets hectic. 😞

But all the while, the workshop and life goes on. 🐴🐮

Victor has been very busy in the workshop, new saddles, saddle and saddlery repairs, new saddlery. Thank you to all of our customers, new and repeat. 👏

Katrina & Kate have also been pitching in giving a hand. The Girls have also been down to Brisbane for The EKKA with the RG1 Show Cattle Team. A bit bittersweet as it was Kate’s last with the school. She competed in all events, even with a bruised foot. Kate also represented the CQ Sub Chamber in Commercial Judging. Even though she didn’t get a place, she spoke well and was very humbled to be given the opportunity to compete on the big stage. 🐮👏

Logan’s new saddle collected, ready to go and do some work! Congratulations Logan on adding to your Top Rail Saddlery saddle collection. 🐴

Next saddle order fenders cut out ready to go. Everything is cut out by hand with our saddles. 😊

Sadly holidays have finished, so the horses can sigh a sigh of relief! 🤣 Kate has been working the older mares for team penning this weekend and handling the baby of the family, ready for the farrier to trim her and ready to be broken in at the end of the year, Torina Heavenly Halo.

Another busy week done and dusted! 😄

Kate bought her last timber work project home from school. Another piece of beautiful workmanship that she has produced. Still can’t believe that she is nearly finished year 12. 🤭

This beautiful saddle is for a repeat customer, off to NSW. We are sure Katie is going to have a lot of lovely rides in her new saddle. 🐴

Last weekend, Kate competed at the CQ Cow Horse event at CQLX. Torina Spring Miss was pulled out of the paddock a fortnight ago and got her Cow Horse on! 🐴🐮
Champion - Youth Box Drive, Reserve Champion - Youth Boxing & to finish the weekend, tied Reserve Champion -Youth Reined Cow Horse.

The TOP RAIL SADDLERY TEAM has made it out the other side of a very busy 10 days. 😄

From Victor Judging Working Horse classes at Yeppoon Show, Kate competing with RGS Show Cattle Team at both Yeppoon & Rocky Shows. She picked up 5th Stud Judging (Yeppoon) and a 3rd Stud Judging (Rocky). 🐮

Trade site at ACA Finals at Paradise Lagoons and presenting a trophy saddle to Open Draft Winner Cameron Webster and his beautiful horse, Soda Lilac. Congratulations Cameron, well done. 👏🐴

Then to finish off Kate & Torina Angels Portrait, competed in the Tan A Lou Ranch Versatility Buckle Series on Saturday & Sunday. 🐴 The combination came home with 1st Overall in Rookie & 3rd Overall in Novice. 🐴🩷

It’s been hectic, but we love it! 🐴🐮🩷

As the sun goes down on another weekend, I thought I should check in to say we are still all alive! 😂
I’m not the best at keeping the page updated, but rest assured, we have not been resting. 🫣
New saddles, new gear, repairs, it’s all going in in the workshop.
We are working hard also getting stock available for our trade site at the ACA Finals at Paradise Lagoons in a few weeks. 🐴🐮
