Good morning, everyone,
We are now good to start taking donations again!
Our donation bin is open behind the shop, please feel free to use that over the weekend if needed while we are closed.
Dunkeld, your bin will be opened once again on Monday when we get out there.
Just another reminder if the bin is full - please wait until we are open to bring in your donations, do NOT leave them outside the bin or shop. That is considered illegal dumping.
Also, a little reminder; some of the things we can't accept are single shoes, school/study textbooks, any offensive materials, electrical with the cords damaged and obviously anything that is considered trash.
There was an influx of donations last week that were totally not suitable for us to sell.
Someone had put a trash bag in our donation bin on Wednesday/Thursday last week that was just full of rubbish, baby bottle still full of rotten milk, half eaten chocolate blocks and easter eggs, ruined clothes and shoes, dirty utensils, empty smoke packets, kid's drawings and schoolwork, broken toys and unsealed nappies. (only some of what was in there). That is a totally unacceptable thing, and we do not tolerate this behaviour by any means.
If you're going to clean out your kiddo's room, we don't want the part of it that is for you to dispose of yourself, we are not a rubbish dump.
We are trying to keep things out of landfill, please respect our shop and volunteers hard work and how much they do for us, I'm not the only one who keeps this place running, it's mostly our volunteers and all the incredible things they do and time they sacrifice for us to be open 5 days a week, let's not make it harder for them!
Thank you for your understanding.
