Not much has been said this week, but believe me we have been busy!
What have we been doing behind the scenes?

Tshirt designs: Yes, we are going to be selling tshirts! But first we need to design them! Jolene and I have been drafting up ideas for tshirts.
We have one which is as an exclusive Club tier reward for those who become a Squire at tier 8. Then we have ones that can be purchased when you reach each tier. And of course, we have other designs for public non club members!

MORE GAMES! : At the end of the day, Oxy Moron Games IS a retail store. Huon Valleys sole board game store for all the locals who want to get quick access to all the best selling games! We have 1 shelf of games that we have been desperately restocking and filling and over the rest of the year, we plan on filling a 2nd shelf of board games for sale! We have made many orders over the last few weeks. We will soon have another 40+ games for sale within the next 2 weeks!

Advertising: It's been 2 months now and we have a regular 12 club members coming each week and another dozen joining for our free social gaming sessions. Plus our irregular curious souls. We plan on doubling these numbers by the end of the year, and to do this we need to work heavily on advertising. Jolene has designed a poster for us to hand out at schools over the next 2 weeks. We are also working on a home-schooling program and other private sessions.
We would love if you could help spread the word to help us make our goal by the end of the year.

Tournaments: in 2027, Oxy Moron Games will enter the tournament realm by hosting regular monthly Sunday tournaments. Our first one will be of our popular Crokinole! All entries to our tournaments will gain Club Membership as well as experience points according to your finishing position. We also have in club gift coins for our most skilled players, so get practicing!

Furnishings: We are continuing to upgrade our store. This includes more shelves, an upgraded counter, and fridge fittings. All of those who walk by regularly might be able to notice these small changes each week. We have many more plans, such as upgrading the chairs, buying gaming mats for our tables and more shelving but all these will come as we increase our Club membership.

Library: Of course, we are also always learning new games to add to the game library for both Club and Social. This involves a lot of research and time. The main focus this year is to be successful with a community grant - adding dozens of games for children under the age of 10 to help introduce them into simple gaming mechanisms that can help with their fundamentals in learning skills.

There is so much more we want to share with you on what's in the works, but some things are best kept as a surprise (especially if we fail to meet our own expectations... 😅)
I know there are a lot of you out there who are on the fence about trying out a night with the club, if you are, please feel free to reach out. Maybe we can point you in the right direction on which night to come according to your social tastes and capabilities, and having a quick 1 on 1 chat ahead of time may make that transition a little easier. It really is so much fun hanging out with friendly, easy-going people of all ages (mostly late teens), playing whatever game you want for 6 hours! But then I am a little biased 😂
Hope to see new faces this month! In September we are open 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 29th & 30th.
