There’s no doubt that local business have been doing it tough for the last 12 months.

To support small business on the Yorke Peninsula during these trying times Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North launched the YP shopping website a FREE service for businesses, services and backyard hobbyists to promote and sell their wares.

If you are keen to find other ways to promote and market your business or services, you can register in just 5 minutes!

Alternatively if you are keen to support local businesses by by shopping local online please visit www.yorkepeninsulashopping.com.au.

When our state went into lockdown last year, this initiative was brought together by Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North with support from Yorke Peninsula Council, Copper Coast and Barunga West Councils and Yorke Peninsula Tourism as a way of assisting businesses increase their online presence.

“One of our success stories has been from a hobbyist who makes home-made candles! We want to grow the website so it’s a go to for locals looking for YP goods and services but also for visitors and YP enthusiasts to buy local YP made and produced items when they are visiting or when they go home and miss our beautiful area.

If you are a tradie or business that offers a service we would love to see you register your business to make it easy for locals and visitors to find you should they need something done on their holiday home or to get their engine checked before they hit the road again.

‘Visitors aren’t often privy to the inside knowledge locals have on who to call so it’s great to have this directory for them to access contact details quickly and easily’ said Jo Buchanan, Economic Development Officer for RDAYMN.

One on one support to get on the site can be provided if you need it through local resident Kathryn Loveridge from Sunnyvale, who also runs local store The Moonta Collective.

Follow the link in bio and click ‘join’ to register your business, your service or your special hobby wares, so we can help spread the word of all the great things YP has on offer.
