A quiet moment at Hobart Waterfront.

Pattern Testing a new design.... As a pattern tester, I am given a draft copy of a new pattern and I help look for any errors and make sure it makes sense before it goes up for sale.
📖 I read through the instructions to make sure it makes sense
🥢🧶 I use my own yarns and needles
⚖️ I weigh the yarn before and after using so the appropriate amount required can be included in the pattern. (There's a bit of math involved in that process!)
📏 Whilst knitting my sample, I use a measuring tape to count stitches and rows to see if the gauge is correct.
📸 I take photos of progress and the finished piece

Whilst helping the designer, I get early, free access to the pattern and I almost always learn a new technique or get a 'lightbulb moment' of finally understanding something. and having a deadline means I'm motivated to finish what I started!
