🌸 Can you feel it?

Spring isn’t here just yet… but the plants already know.

All around the nursery, they’re quietly whispering that a new season is on its way.

Tiny flower buds are appearing on our grevilleas. Native hibiscus is preparing for its colourful display. The sweet scent of lavender drifts through the air, while mulberries are beginning to fill with fruit. Our finger limes and many of our citrus trees are bursting into blossom, promising the harvests to come.

And then there are the little surprises…

✨ Our Hakea decurrens has begun to flower too.

Every morning brings something new—a fresh bloom, a new bud, another reminder that nature always knows when it’s time to begin again.

🌱 Fresh vegetable seedlings and herbs have also arrived, ready for your spring garden and home harvest.

Spring is almost here, and the nursery is already celebrating.

🐉🥚 A dragon egg has hatched… and it’s an Erdon Lee ‘Dragon Egg’ Lychee! 🌿✨

This incredible lychee variety is famous for producing impressively large fruit and is a must-have for any fruit tree collector.

⚠️ This is the grower’s final batch for the season. We’ve been told the next batch won’t be available for quite some time, so once these are gone, they’ll be gone for a while.

Tick season has arrived much
earlier than expected this year!
After chatting with some lovely customers at the nursery, I realised it was probably time to give Milo his tick treatment. Even though it didn’t feel like tick season yet, l decided not to take any chances.
The very next day, I found a dead tick on him.
It was a real wake-up call. If you have dogs or cats, now is the perfect time to make sure their tick prevention is up to date. The ticks are definitely out earlier than many of us expectea.

💜 The Winter Garden Edit: Lavender Season Arrives

As the mornings grow crisp and the light softens across the nursery, lavender season has officially arrived at Narangba Nursery – Zephyr Forest.

After months of planning and building, the first section of our new greenhouse is finally taking shape. There is still plenty to do—more tables to build, irrigation to finish, and many plants yet to move in—but this first completed space is already filled with colour, fragrance and some of our favourite winter arrivals.

At the heart of this season’s collection is lavender: timeless, calming and perfectly suited to Brisbane’s cooler months. This year’s selection includes the striking variegated foliage of Lavender Meerlo, the delicate ruffles of Vanillaberry Ruffles, and the rich tones of Violet Lace and Winter Lace.

Winter is one of the best times to plant in South-East Queensland, allowing roots to establish before spring bursts into life. The greenhouse may still be a work in progress, but perhaps that is part of its charm. Each week, another bench is filled, another corner comes to life, and slowly the vision becomes reality.

✨ Two edible plants you may not have tried before… ✨

A new batch of veggie seedlings has just arrived, including Snow Peas, Mini White Cauliflower, Red Russian Kale, English Spinach, Silverbeet, Sugarloaf Cabbage, and two new herbs we’re excited to share.

✨ Variegated Sage — a stunning perennial culinary herb with elegant cream-and-green foliage. Fragrant, edible, and beautiful enough for ornamental gardens too, it can provide harvests for years in the right spot. Perfect for roast dishes, brown butter sauces, or herbal tea.

✨ Mizuna (Japanese mustard greens) — one of Japan’s favourite leafy greens with soft feathery leaves and a gentle peppery flavour. Think of it as a more delicate version of rocket — fresh, slightly peppery, without the bitterness. Delicious in salads, sandwiches, soups, and stir fries.

Useful, beautiful, and a little unexpected — just the way we like it.

As usual, we also have a wide range of plants in store — so many different varieties of Grevilleas, Melaleuca space savers, fruit trees, herbs, indoor and shade plants, and rare collector specimens. 🌿

Children’s Grevillea Workshop
Join us for our first-ever school holiday workshop! We’ll explore the fascinating world of native Grevilleas, discovering why they are so vital for our environment and how to care for them.
Create & Take Home: Kids will enjoy an expertly guided painting session to create their own Grevillea canvas art. Plus, every child takes home a beautiful, budding Grevillea ‘Lana Meree’ to watch bloom in their own backyard!
