[not my work] I've been taking a bit of a holiday from the world lately, but had been hard at work. She's used a variation of my technique to add extra dimension to the fish in her latest piece.

Something new in the works here. Got a gentle nudge from a friend at the weekend and I'm finally starting work on a new textile art piece.

It's been a while, most of those that I've started have been abandoned so we'll see how long this one lasts!

In a change for me, I'm letting the fabric do some of the heavy lifting, instead of relying entirely on thread. Not quite sure how I feel about breaking out of the realm of wholecloths, but excited to see where it goes 😊.

It's been a while since I've posted- the start of this year has been hard, while I've managed some time off and had some amazing moments in nature, it's all been underpinned by grief at the sudden loss of a close quilty friend. It's taken a while for me to be able to get back into the studio, but slowly starting to get return to things.

Here's a tiny little bias applique project I've been playing with- 1/8" bias stripes. There's been a lot going on in the world over the holidays, hope everybody's staying safe and managing to spend some time with the special people in their lives ❤️

Regular quilting fabrics will get the job done (and I fully endorse using up scraps), but if you're struggling, consider using a finer fabric- my current favourite is kaffe fasset shot cottons, lawn is also great, art gallery does a beautiful light weight solid too! What's your favourite fabric for miniatures?
