I have almost zero responsibilities and plenty of time to go exploring. I have lived in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne but Brisbane is by far my home city and one of the best locations in Australia if not the world.

There is a stunning glass gallery and a beautiful Italian museum and cafe on the way to and from Byron (just near Evans Head).

It’s a great rest stop and on my drive from Sydney back home to Brisbane I pulled in for a little rest stop and to get a little mini c**k for my collection.

1. .restaurant nailing the crustacean + flavoured butter combo. Even better with sea herbs (I’ve always wanted to bite into a succulent but this will have to suffice).
2. My .bne repeat order: fresh hot pretzel with cream cheese (and a mug of hojicha, obviously).
3. Garlic steak and carbs galore (rice, beans and fries!) from are the perfect way to fix a bad day.

Tacos! Pho! Cheese kransky! Get your fix of .partying’s *honest* reviews this week on Substack.

1. Besides the obvious tacos, I will be back for .au’s snack menu – the tuna belly tostada is one of the best bites of my year.

2. Em Saigon might be the smallest Viet restaurant in Brisbane but it makes some of the best beef pho broth in the city (or anywhere).

3. might have the best value (and best first-time spätzle) south of the river. Love their Riesling options too!
