TASTINGS WITH TOMFOOLERY 🍷
This week’s tastings at Cellarbrations highlights 6 of their Tomfoolery Wines:
Burla Negra Tempranillo:
“This seafarin’ wine fires cannonballs of red cherry fruit across the bow with a herby oak lift before walking the plank of fine acid balanced with rich texture, scuttled with a ballast of grainy tannins” 🍒
Trouble and Strife Cabernet Franc Rosé:
“Crisp, dry and refreshing with wild strawberries, redcurrants and rose petal florals, balanced by juicy acidity and finishing with a hint of vanilla spice” 🍓
High Cotton Minimalistic Pinot noir:
“Generous drinkability, vibrant and juicy but has solid structure to age” 🍷
Fox Whistle Pinot Gris:
“Soft and juicy, with nashi pear fruit, lime juice and blanched almonds on a textural, rounded palate balanced by refreshing acidity” 🍐
Skullduggery Mataro/Shiraz:
“A dense palate of dark fruits is reined in by refreshing acidity. Savoury, chewy and textural with firm structuring tannin, this is an exercise in power and restraint”🫐
Cut ‘n Run Riesling - Eden Valley:
“Delicately weighted with upfront Bickford lime juice, bursts of acidity with juicy fruit and solid rocky back bone to go the journey”🍋🟩
