As we reflect on Whalesong Festival 2026, there are still so many people and organisations we would like to thank for helping make this year's event such a wonderful success.

A special thank you to Simon Harrison and all the police officers who attended the festival. Thank you for taking the time to participate in our parade and be part of the celebrations. Your presence was appreciated by everyone, and it was wonderful to see the community engaging with you throughout the event.

To the Augusta Hotel, we cannot thank you enough for allowing us to utilise your venue as part of the festival. The sight of Sarah Zel Chescoe's magnificent whale sculpture and the colourful kites set against the stunning backdrop of the river created a truly memorable scene. Combined with the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel, where families could gather to enjoy a meal and spend time together, it added something very special to the festival experience.

To the Vintage Car Club and all the vehicle owners who made the journey to Augusta, thank you for bringing your beautiful collection of vintage cars. They brought colour, character, and excitement to the festival and were admired by visitors of all ages. From passionate car enthusiasts to wide eyed children, your vehicles brought smiles to so many faces throughout the day.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Augusta Primary School, Karridale Primary School, the Molloy Ladies, ACDA, the Augusta Historical Society, the Augusta Art Club, and the Augusta Lions Club. A special mention to ACDA for their involvement with the bar and movie. All Your support before, during, and after the festival played a vital role in its success, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, effort, and enthusiasm you contributed.

Finally, we would like to give a very special thank you to Peter Madgley and the Augusta Men's Shed. Peter also very kindly donated a Jarrah table that was awarded as 1st prize in our Saturday raffle, alongside his generous donation Peter dedicated an extraordinary amount of time and effort to the festival and worked tirelessly to help bring his vision to life. The passion, commitment, and determination shown by Peter and the Men's Shed were instrumental in creating many of the memorable elements that made this year's festival so special.

To every person, group, organisation, volunteer, and supporter who contributed in any way, thank you. Events like Whalesong Festival do not happen without the dedication of an entire community. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive, generous, and passionate community standing behind us.
It truly takes a village to create something as special as Whalesong Festival, and we are grateful every day for ours.

Sarah Zel Chescoe Whalesong Festival Augusta last weekend

A heartfelt thank you to Sarah Zel Chescoe, who’s magnificent ten metre whale sculpture became a centrepiece of the festival, making its way down Augusta's main street after welcoming guests at the Whalesong Frolic Cocktail Party that happen Friday evening.
Thank you to Joey Hayes, whose artistic talent brought three magnificent whales to life through her beautiful mural, and to Tim Darby whose incredible sand sculpture amazed both adults and children alike. Your creativity and craftsmanship transformed sand into something truly special.

To our wonderfully talented flautist, Asha Henfry, thank you for leading the parade through the streets of Augusta and adding such a magical atmosphere to the day.

To Katt Anna and your team of talented dancers, thank you for the energy, passion, and dedication you brought to your performances. Your commitment as a coach shone through, and your dancers were a joy to watch.
To Kate Finkelstein and the Singrays, thank you for providing lively entertainment and sharing your incredible musical talents with our community.

To Jacinta Thomas, our beloved Mermaid, thank you for delighting the children and bringing a little extra magic to the festival.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank the members of the Spinners and Weavers Club, the Soul Masons, the Augusta Art Group, the Molloy Island Arts Group, and the Ukuleles Group Michelle Readshaw, Sally Tubb, Sue Air, Sue Buzza, Liz Wyber, Adam Mathews, and Trevor Gilmore. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and talent added colour, character, and joy to the festival experience.
