I got a new sketchbook, but I refuse to take the plastic off until I finish the TWO sketchbooks I have with single-digit-number of pages left. Here are a bunch of doodles from one of them, mostly of weird little clay critters on etsy.

In the spirit of being less precious about what I post, please enjoy these sketchbook doodles from the past couple of weeks. I've been getting into watercolours lately and I'm challenging myself to fill up this awkwardly sized and oriented Moleskine that I got for myself when I decided to get serious about art in 2019! It's about time to fill this puppy up, so I'm aiming to finish it before the end of the year.

Hey Instagram, long time no see! Life is chaotic as usual, and I'm not really trying too hard to overcome my hatred of social media. I really love seeing other people post their art though, so I'm trying to think of it as like all of us putting our art up on the fridge together ✨

Today's contribution is my final piece for my life drawing class. I've been studying a Cert IV in visual art and this drawing class has been a jam packed boot camp. I've learned so much I can FEEL new wrinkles forming in my brain.

I'm pretty proud of this one, and our model was amazing! I really want to go to more life drawing events and classes in the future. For this one I used charcoal, Conte, and graphite, and the different mediums and overlapping poses are intended to communicate the passage of time. That was the assignment anyway, but I was more excited about drawing tummy folds ❤️
