Day 6 of bringing a product to market.

This is why prototyping properly can save you thousands.

Instead of getting completely new brackets manufactured, I reused parts from the previous prototype to test the idea first.

After a few modifications and a lot of testing… the concept actually worked exactly how I wanted it to.

Now it’s back into CAD for the next revision.

Every prototype gets one step closer.

Day 5 of bringing a product to market.

This latest prototype helped highlight a lot of changes that need to be made before this table can be realistically manufactured in Australia.

At the moment, there’s still too many parts, too much assembly time, and too much complexity in areas that need simplifying.

That’s the reality of product development, you build something, test it, then work backwards, figuring out how to make it stronger, simpler, and more cost-effective to manufacture.

Still a long way to go… but every prototype gets one step closer.

Day 4 of bringing a product to market.

After building the first rough prototype, the table has now been fully designed in CAD so I can start generating technical drawings for manufacturing.

Today was all about assembling everything for the first time — laser cut brackets, folding legs, gas struts, and trying to get all the geometry working properly.

This is honestly my favourite part of the process… when the design on the computer finally starts becoming something real.

Now let’s see how it actually performs.
