I’m going to let you all know upfront that you will not see my horrific accident, tearing my body in half, in the 1/4 mile ski drags behind Mr Walker. The camera was on the boat when I fell.

I wanted to upload the video to YouTube that was supplied to me post accident, as it is part of the history of ski racing.
It shows a tonne of Old School crews ‘n boats as well as the two biggest experiments in the ski racing world at the time.

God's Gift, the hottest, most powerful and most outrageously beautiful piece of machinery to have hit the Super Class level in ski racing and said.. ‘Catch me if you can’.
With the best of the latest of everything possible to do with running a twin MOTEC turbocharged, fuel injected 472 Aluminium Rodeck, v drive engine at the time.
Along with Stephens Boats, and their new, 21 feet long hull, barely containing the 1300hp monster engine, and also the iconic paint job, by John Evan’s at Racepaint.

As well as Mr Walker , the triple S3000 rigged 1000hp
Mercury Racing powered, Connelly Craft .
The lightest one ever produced.

Built and driven by Andrew Hallam, capable of delivering the speed of Gods Gift, with the sound of a swarm of bumblebees 🐝 and the spectacular power to weight ratio, that kept it flying high like an airplane.
Andrew actually wanted to put 4 motors on the boat, but the ski racing boat width and length maximums would not fit them on the boat!

It truly was a great time to be involved in this awesome sport of ours, with huge numbers of competitors , of around 30 teams in every single engine size and age category offered.

I was so fortunate to have been proudly involved in the development of both of these outrageous game changing rigs, from the start and man we had a hoot !

From secretly testing them both in the middle of the Victorian winter here in Oz, at sun up, at Lake Eppalock, near Bendigo, to keep the secrets of their existence lost in the fog.

Right thru to the blown minds of the people who saw them for the first time at their finest on race day.
It was great fun 🤩!

Thank you to absolutely everyone involved in the teams who made that history together.

The 21 foot long, blue printed Stephens hull, that worked so well with both ski AND powerboat racing National Championship Titles and the smashed Outright records in virtually every single River Ski Race in Australia.👍🏼🦘👍🏼

This movie also shows the last ever drag skiing races to be held in Australia, with both the Inboards and Outboards letting rip up the wide, 1/4 mile course.
