Book Week can creep up on us but sometimes we’re gifted with a relatively simple request! Ladybug Girl is a beautiful book about confidence and solo play. So here’s how easy it can be to make:

🐞Red gumboots from Kmart (remove Hello Kitty sticker with heat and orange power)
🐞Black sticky felt from Spotlight (cut into spots)
🐞Top and shorts from Best and Less (top from boys section)
🐞Tutu from Spotlight
🐞Either buy wings from party shop or make them with stiffened felt and fabric from Spotlight (glue, no sewing!)
🐞Antenna made with headband, wire/pipe cleaners and pompoms (all available from your fave dollar shop)

There are a few steps but you don’t need to be a sewing whiz to pull it all together!

My daughter had a moment with a permanent marker and her bedside lamp was a casualty! Instead of throwing it out, it was time to get creative and crochet a granny square lamp shade! Whilst we love the final product, I’ll definitely be hiding the permanent markers from now on!!

I’m certain that kids’ drawings multiply when you’re not looking 😅

We had boxes and boxes of them, so we picked our favourites and turned them into one big artwork instead.
