Friday night at Alba Thermal Springs & Spa: steam rising off their lux hot springs, a clear sky full of stars, and the kind of quiet you don’t get in the city.

Dinner at their restaurant - Thyme - was exceptional. Don’t go without trying the pavlova - torched meringue, sharp lemon curd, vanilla ice cream, berries piled on top. I’m still thinking about it.

And on the shelf in their store - Bramble & Hedge, sitting quietly among Alba’s picks of local makers.

A few fav discoveries from The Little Food Market 🍯🧀🌶️

One of the best parts of doing markets is meeting other passionate Australian makers.

We were lucky enough to sneak away from the Bramble & Hedge stand for a few minutes and came home with some delicious finds.

🔥 Premium Chilli oil & pantry goods by Soka Pantry Co.
The hot honey chilli oil was our gateway… now we can’t wait to try the Extra Hot. Their range is much bigger than we realised, with everything made using premium extra virgin olive oil (EVOO). Sweet, spicy, beautifully balanced and incredibly versatile. A pantry staple from now on.

🧀 Milawa Cheese Company
Milawa may be famous for its wine region, but the cheese deserves just as much attention. They only had three cheeses available at the market, and every one was exceptional. The Camembert, Cheddar and Blue have us planning a road trip to Milawa to explore the full range… and perhaps visit a winery or two while we’re there.

🥓 Puopolo Artisan Salumi
The Mild Cacciatore didn’t disappoint. The Hot and Fennel varieties are next to fast in our fridge.

👏 A shout-out to Fancy Hank’s Sauces & Seasonings
Their Taco Rub and mayonnaise also found their way into our shopping bag. We have a feeling they won’t last long.

We only scratched the surface. Between serving customers and chatting with so many lovely people, we didn’t get to explore nearly as many stalls as we’d have liked.

One thing the weekend reinforced is how important it is to support Australian makers. Every stall represents people who have backed themselves, honed their craft and created something they’re proud to share. If you get the chance to visit a market, take it. You never know what you’ll discover.

Here’s to supporting local and celebrating the incredible community of Australian producers. ❤️
