After years of everything being new, minimal, matching and perfect, it feels like we’re craving homes with personality again — things with history, colour, character and a story to tell.

Working in secondhand, I see the cycle constantly. Things considered “dated” not that long ago are now some of the most fought-over pieces in the shop.

The roller door is UP from 10am and Southside Collector is overflowing with colourful vintage homewares, furniture, collectibles and plenty of weird & wonderful treasures waiting to be discovered 🌈🪩✨

And this Melbourne weather? Basically made for a morning of vintage treasure hunting followed by heading home, getting cosy under a blanket, pouring something spicy into your favourite vintage glassware and putting on Practical Magic 🔮🍸

The shop is currently absolutely OVERFLOWING with vintage lounges and chairs — and this Friday we’re adding even more.

The incredible striped Danish Deluxe lounge AND those beautiful black scoop-back Danish Deluxe armchairs with timber frames are dropping 10AM FRIDAY — online & in store.

And honestly, if you’re looking for a new lounge, come in and sit on everything. 😂 We’ve got so many different shapes, colours, eras and styles packed into the shop right now that there’s a very good chance your perfect one is hiding in here.

Would you rather have a house full of expensive things… or interesting things? 👀

Give me the weird lamp. The op-shop artwork. Grandma’s vase. The chair that’s 50 years old and has a few stories to tell.

Of course expensive things can be beautiful AND interesting — but a beautiful home doesn’t need to cost a fortune.

I think the best homes are collected over time. A little bit new, a lot secondhand, something inherited, something found, something you probably didn’t need but absolutely couldn’t leave behind 😂

Things that don’t necessarily match, but somehow work because they feel like YOU.

I’d much rather walk into someone’s home and say, “OH MY GOD, where did you find that?!” than feel like I’m walking through a furniture showroom.

But I want to know what you think…
