Thank you so much for all the love you've been showing the Time After Time Socks pattern! I've noticed it's had a spike in attention lately, which warms my heart.

It features both toe-up and cuff down sock instructions, with your choice of a heel flap and gusset or short row heel, and the PDF enjoyed a little refresh a few years ago. Oh, and there's both charted and written instructions for the cable and lace patterning!

Hello friends, it's been a while! Just wanted to let any Adelaide and South Australian locals know that I'll be vending at the Mount Pleasant Fleece and Fibre Fair this Sunday, the 9th August! (Held at the Mount Pleasant Farmer's Market, Melrose Street.) Come check out the lovely yarny things that will be on offer from all of the stallholders, and if you see me there, do say hi! I love to chat if you have any questions, plus I'll have patterns, stitch marker necklaces and stitch marker sets at my stall if there's any you'd like to peruse.

Hi all, it's been a while! This wasn't the post I planned to come back with after my social media hiatus, but it's the best way to quickly update those planning on attending tomorrow in Adelaide. Just wanted to let you know that if you were keeping an eye out for me as a stallholder, I now unfortunately won't be there! I started feeling unwell last night, did a couple of RAT tests as a precaution today and yep, sure enough, turns out I've come down with COVID 😞 The first test was faint, but the second was, well, quite conclusive.

I'm super sad about not being able to attend the event and the timing feels like such rotten luck, but if you are planning on attending Fibre Feast, I hope you have a wonderful day! I've included the event details on the second slide. Do check it out if you'll be in Adelaide as it's always lots of fun!

Hopefully chat soon with happier updates when I'm feeling better. Back to being horizontal on the couch 😑 Look after yourselves! ♥️

Hi friends, it's with a heavy heart that I need to let you know I won't be able to make Fibre Feast SA this Sunday ☹️ I've come down with a cold, and while the RATs say I'm negative for Covid, I'm not feeling well again yet and that means I need to avoid in-person events. I don't think anyone will want to hang out with me sniffling all day anyway!

I had some fun market specials planned, but as I can't run those anymore I've set up a substitute offer in my Ravelry and Payhip shops. You can enjoy 20% off all my self-published digital patterns from now until midnight Tuesday 14th June 2022, ACST. So some lovely things came home with me last weekend from Launceston! First up, several beautiful skeins of yarn - a DK weight in the Wine O'Clock colourway that I bought from and that's destined to become a hat, a gobstopper ball of self-striping yarn that I bought from (dyed by , in the Vintage Rose colourway) that will probably become a pair of vanilla socks, and a skein of Merino Linen yarn in the Bear Paws colourway from , that Hanna surprised and utterly spoiled me with as a gift (thank you again Hanna, I love it!!)

We were also each gifted bags, full of mini skeins and goodies from , , , , and much more. I don't mean to make anyone feel FOMO by sharing these goodies, but they were so lovely to receive and I don't want to skip giving a shoutout to the creatives behind them. Do yourselves a favour and check out their shops if you have the chance - they make gorgeous things!

Hiya! If we haven't met before, I'm Jess - the human behind The Sweater Collective! It's been a long while since I've done an introduction post, so here are some facts about me!

- I've knit since I was little, having been taught by my Nan during a stay with the grandparents. I retaught myself a few times throughout the years when I came back to knitting after an absence, including working out how to bind off as we never covered that during the lesson! It was a way for me to recreate clothes on a student budget, but from there I couldn't help customising designs and coming up with my own ideas for patterns. Crochet was something I picked up in middle school as I thought it looked super fun too, and both crafts have stuck with me ever since.
- I can play the piano! I actually studied music throughout high school and sat exams in the Piano For Leisure program. I'm trying to pick it up again and am suuuuper rusty, but there's still a bit of muscle memory to tap into!
- When I went to uni, I switched to visual arts, with the intention of majoring in textiles. They sadly cut the textiles program before I was able to start it, so I ended up studying painting as my major, but the passion I had for textiles was always strongest.
- I live with my partner Lochie, and our ever-expanding collection of plant babies. I'm just starting to dip my toes into plant propagation, so I hope we'll be living in an indoor jungle before too long 😂
- I finished my Whale Of A Time Shawl, and that's what prompted the selfie and this introduction! Please just excuse the hair that's long overdue for a cut. Whale of a Time is a pattern I released a few years ago now, and this version uses quite different colours from the original sample!

I would love to know a fun fact about you too! Thanks so much for being here and following along with my creative projects, I really appreciate you!! ♥️

I finished these bags about 5 months ago, and never shared a photo of them here! They were gifts for friends at the end of last year, and when I asked what colours they wanted, the request was to match their favourite AFL footy teams. So here we go, completely unofficial and unauthorised, but inspired by the colours of the Adelaide Crows and West Coast Eagles. I ended up doing a bit of ripping and recrocheting, particularly on the Crows bag, to get the balance of stripes right and I'm happy with how they turned out. 🏉

The base bag shape I used for these is my Crocheted Project Bag pattern, available for free from thesweatercollective.com! ♥️

So proud of how quickly this shawl baby is growing up 😊 I'm making a second sample of my Whale of a Time Shawl pattern, which was released a few years ago and can be found via my Ravelry and Payhip shops. Yellow and pink are my jam right now, so I'm darn excited to wear this soon. The stitch pattern is a little sidestep from traditional brioche into tuck stitch knitting, which I've had a lot of fun revisiting through this project.

Just 2 more full sections to work through and then it's done! 🧶

I've uploaded my "How to knit flat brioche, 1 colour" and "How to knit flat brioche, 2 colour" tutorials as public access in case you've been wanting to dip your toes into the stitch but didn't know where to start. Find them in the channel link via my bio!

Please note that the instructions for these tutorials have been based on those found in my Lamington Shawl pattern, but the basic principles can be applied across whatever flat, unshaped brioche project you want to tackle.
