IMARA ( meaning STRONG ) Basket

Baobab basket handwoven from fine baobab. Natural colours with strong double leather stitched handles.

Handwoven from baobab fibre, from the Baobab Tree bark, women who weave each basket take one to two months to complete each one. The traditional designs of browns, blacks and naturals are created by women living in extremely remote, typically arid, rural villages in Kenya. Leather handles, secured strongly to the basket are added.
