WEEKEND TO REMEMBER! - 2026 POWRi NATIONAL’S

What a weekend the 2026 POWRi Nationals was! Awesome racing, a great atmosphere and a great time had by everyone across the venue.

It’s the biggest show of the year and always keeps officials on there toes, but every official managed to get through it and finish the weekend with smiles on their faces.

David Higgins
David Higgins is a legend of our sport and on behalf of the entire officials team, we like to congratulate him on reaching a milestone of 1,000 race meetings on Sunday night throughout his speedway career.

PTF Merchandise
To everyone who got merchandise over the last couple months and the weekend, I want to say a big thank you for your support. It helps me continue what I do and prepare for next season. Most items are now out of stock! So thank you!

From the Flag Stand
One of the highlights of the weekend was having Dad up on the flag stand helping with qualifying. Qualifying can be challenging to flag with five cars on track running 11-second laps for 2 laps, so having him up there helping out was awesome and made for a pretty special moment. Even though he drove me nuts with his flagging!

LED 4 Wide
Simon and I hope the LED 4 Wide Salute looked as cool as we thought it did! We’ve been working on that project for a couple months and were excited to finally see it come to life on track. A huge thank you to Simon Bestmann for helping make it happen. Couldn’t have done it without him.

2026 Flag-Off
The 2026 Flag Off between Phoenix and Shaun certainly was entertaining! However! Results are still pending investigation following a possible infringement. A rematch may be required next year!

Drivers, Teams & Spectators
Thank you for making the weekend what it was…… Whether you came down the road or travelled from beyond, the officials team would like to thank you for being part of an awesome weekend of racing and fun.
Congratulations to all drivers on their efforts throughout the event.

The team that made it happen: Mitch Biner, Rachel Biner, Ged Elphinstone, Lenny Edwards, Mitch Bootland, Phoenix Walton, Melaine Jones, Jason Summers, Teearn Summers, Shaun McDonald, Loretta Jackson, Darren Todd, Daniele Skinner, David Higgins, Nathan Walton, Cameron Jones, David James, Steve Jones, Luke Jamieson, Keith Kelly, Gate staff & Crown Control.

🚨1 WEEK ALERT! 🚨

The BIGGEST weekend of the year is almost here😁

The 2026 Jettco Developments POWRi Nationals, presented by Muswellbrook & Lancaster Ford hits The Bowl on June 5th, 6th & 7th with 3 huge nights of action featuring Australia’s best Microsprints, fireworks, demolition derby chaos and the ultimate Saturday night pit party featuring Dtuned LIVE.

KIDS UNDER 10 ARE FREE all weekend.

Whether you’re a hardcore race fan or just looking for an awesome family weekend out, here’s everything you need to know before heading trackside.

2026 POWRi NATIONALS FAQ – June 5th, 6th & 7th

WHAT TIME DOES IT START?
Friday night practice runs from 6pm until 9pm.

Saturday & Sunday spectator gates open at 12pm, with racing from approximately 2.30pm.

Race cars will be on track prior to racing for warm up sessions only.

We strongly suggest not leaving your arrival until the last minute, especially on Sunday. Sorry guys, we cannot allow entry before the advertised gate opening times.

WHAT TIME WILL IT FINISH?
We aim to have racing completed by approximately 8.30pm both nights, however this is only a guide and may change depending on racing conditions and event delays.

IS IT LOUD?
YES… very loud.
The action is close, fast and right in your face. If you have young kids or anyone sensitive to loud noise, we strongly recommend bringing hearing protection to keep them comfortable throughout the event.

CAN DIRT COME OVER THE FENCE?
Absolutely.
It’s not uncommon for a bit of clay to find its way into the crowd during racing. It’s all part of the experience and generally not a major issue, but an old pair of glasses or sunglasses in your bag is never a bad idea.

WHEN IS THE PIT PARTY?
Dtuned will perform LIVE after racing on Saturday night at the bike track area.
The Methanol Moonshine pit party is open to anyone who has purchased a speedway ticket for Saturday night.
Please remember this is a family friendly venue. BYO is allowed, but NO GLASS and please drink responsibly.

WHEN IS THE DEMOLITION DERBY?
The True Blue Painting & Lawn Services Demolition Derby will take place at the completion of racing on Sunday night.

Yes, it will absolutely destroy the track and create a massive mess… but not before you experience one HUGE night of open wheel racing action first.

WHEN ARE THE FIREWORKS?
The AMI Auto Electrical fireworks display by Upper Hunter Fireworks will also take place on Sunday evening.
We cannot give an exact time for the fireworks as this depends on the race program.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Our ground crew constantly monitor both the venue and weather forecasts leading into the event.
If we believe the event cannot proceed safely or fairly, a decision will be made and announced via the POWRi Racing Australia page.
This is a massive call that impacts competitors, teams, fans, vendors and volunteers, so please trust us to make the right decision.

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?
All tickets are available at the gate each day. EFTPOS and cash are both accepted.

Friday June 5
FREE spectator entry

Saturday June 6
Adults $20
Aged Pensioners $15
Students 10–16 $10
Kids Under 10 FREE
All Saturday ticket holders are welcome at the Methanol Moonshine Pit Party featuring DTUNED LIVE.

Sunday June 7
Adults $30
Aged Pensioners $25
Students 10–16 $15
Kids Under 10 FREE

CAN WE GO INTO THE PITS?
Pit access is NOT included with a general admission ticket.
Pit passes can be purchased at the gate on arrival for $40, which includes your event entry.
ZERO alcohol is permitted in the pits and enclosed shoes MUST be worn at all times.
At the completion of racing each night, spectators are welcome and encouraged to visit the pit area. It’s a great chance to meet drivers, check out the race cars and grab some cool photos with the kids.

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?
Please pack warm clothes because it gets seriously cold once the sun goes down.

We also recommend:
*Camping chairs
* Blankets or tarps
* Appropriate footwear
* Hearing protection for kids
* Sunscreen and hats for daytime viewing

WILL THERE BE FOOD AVAILABLE?
Absolutely.

Our awesome Speedbowl regular food vendors will be trackside all weekend, including:
Lou Lou’s snack shack
Besom Mobile Cafe
And yes… Lou Lou’s still has the best Dagwood Dogs in the country, possibly the world!!!

CAN WE BRING OUR OWN FOOD?
Yes, no problems at all.
We do ask that where possible you support our food vendors, as these guys support us every single event..

IS BYO ALLOWED?
Yes, BYO is allowed.
However STRICTLY NO GLASS is permitted into the venue. Anyone caught with glass will be asked to leave immediately.
Please also remember this is a family friendly venue, so drink responsibly and in moderation.

WILL THERE BE A LIVE STREAM?
YES.

The team from What's On Speedway TV will be trackside all weekend covering the action live via the What’s On Speedway TV app.
Please be careful of fake streaming links and scam pages.

WILL THERE BE MERCHANDISE?
Yes.
A range of official Nationals and POWRi Racing Australia merchandise will be available trackside, including:
*Shirts
* Hoodies
* Beanies
The team from Wide Open Clothing Co will also be trackside all weekend with their fully stocked merchandise trailer.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹?
I’ve always dreamed of becoming a Flagman ever since I started racing karts. Racing was fun, but being behind the scenes and having the best seat in the house sounded better to me. Especially at the former Parramatta Speedway, I loved watching the Flagman and even waving flags on the hill.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲?
Working with a great group of people and doing it alongside my dad. And the amazing smiles of the drivers and officials.

𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲? 𝗜𝗳 𝗻𝗼𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲?
I’ve raced karts socially since I was 5. That’s also where I first ever picked up a flag at the same age when we would hire a kart track. Then In 2020 I joined Lake Liddell as a pit gate operator, then progressed to flags in 2023 once I was old enough to be on the infield. And haven’t looked back since!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲?
Being the link between race control and drivers on the track, especially when enforcing decisions. It can be tough when drivers are very very frustrated and your the one delivering a on track message. There is also a lot of pressure and am constantly communicating to other officials and event management, helping with decision’s, countering laps, lead cars and staying focused in every single race and not getting caught watching awesome moves that POWRi Racing Australia drivers make, while ensuring my personal safety is good too.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲?
A lot of people think my job is just waving flags but it’s a lot more than that… I assist the safety team during incidents, I manage the venues radio communication equipment, I lap count/watch lead cars, I look for debris and incidents, and so much more, while in the best seat in the house!

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗼𝘄𝗹 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺?
Everyone shows up with a smile and usually goes home with one too. It’s an amazing team to be part of, and there are always plenty of laughs at every event especially at the end, and everyone enjoys the company of one another.

Bonus:
I can’t thank David, Mitch and Ged enough for the opportunities and support along the way. And all my family and mates.
