Although I’ve been tied up with some other projects recently, I’ve still been buying some really interesting things and I carried out a small restock yesterday with a number of them. As always… more to come!

Fresh in are a rustic washing board, a trio of late 19th C “Enterprise Philadelphia USA” irons, great old 1920 German padlock with key and chain, three brass shop scale weights of various sizes and designs C1890/1920, an Art Deco Hotpoint toaster, a variety of scales including Salter, Dayton Ohio and a small set of French postal scales.

There’s also trivets, cow bells, a vintage UK made “Nutbrown” chip chopper, an exotic brass kettle and a super cool and rare Smiths UK duck plate clock c1950. Last but not least is a 1930’s “Dictaphone” with a Bakelite receiver on a timber box with all sorts of important looking switches!

I’m behind on my new stock updates, here’s a few things that have made it into the shop in the last week.

An “Operadio” 1920’s speaker cover, a couple of early miners safety lamps one by H Naylor Wigan (rare bifold burner model) and one by Davy. Also a c1932 Bowling Trophy, a vintage square and a few old packaging boxes including a cracking black one made from sections of old crates, some with remnants of the original wording.

Knocked out a little project this week amongst all the other things going on. It’s a nicely proportioned little C1910 cabinet in a mix of timbers. Stripped back, sanded, filled and painted in a sage green semi gloss finish I think its turned out ok!

There’s been a run of glassware deliveries recently, not by choice necessarily rather just the way things have come along. Nothing wrong with a bit of variety!

Art Deco “Diana” pedestal with an impressive pressed glass bowl C1930, an exceptional 19thC Bohemian Ruby crystal glass with gold accents, featuring a hunting scene with stag, hound and forest scenery, octagonal base with red banding and an etched bottom further showing the exceptional craftsmanship of this piece.

Rounding things out is another Bohemian Crystal piece, early 19thC, with carved decorative panels highlighted with cranberry glass and a detailed and shaped base.

Back into it after my week away, delivering some new stock to the shop including a few small items picked up in Bathurst.

There’s a couple of 1930’s/40’s timber spool fishing reels including a very nice cedar Alvey 625C with original line guide, a group of old “Durex Tool Bits” boxes, a classic Spong 633 bean slicer, butter paddles, a timber thread spindle, a few 1900’s earthenware ink bottles, repro signs, Deco bowl and a pair of 1920’s oval frames with convex glass.
