Launched at Darebin Arts and Entertaiment centre to a capacity audience featuring 'Virgil Donati', the first artist to appear on Drumscene issue 1 front cover. For those who haven't been to the Drumtek complex you will find a triple front double storey building including a ground level of over 100 kits - Pearl, Gretsch, Mapex, Yamaha, Tama, Sonor, DW, Dixon and Roland, plus all the latest in cymbals- Sabian, Zildjian, Bosphorus, Meinl, Paiste, Istanbul and Dream with accessories, books, DVD's, electronic gear and hardware including a huge display of percussion and Australian made drums by Sleishman and Moody. We hire drums and percussion, we can customize or repair your drums and hardware, we pay cash for second hand gear, we deliver anywhere in Australia and we offer a guarantee on all our products. Upstairs includes a corridor of teaching studios and a busy music school atmosphere, plus a comprehensive auditorium. The drums, the playing, the hangs and the vibes! Thursday night at the launch was one to remember and won’t be forgotten any time soon! A truly special evening that featured the world beating event planning and hosting skills of , the masterful and unbelievably musical playing of .farrugia.music, and (aside from all the amazing drummers that attended) a whole bunch of beautiful Slingerland drums! Those who came along learnt all about the history and re-introduction of the brand, and had the opportunity to hear them first hand. Everyone left truly blown away by how authentic these drums sound, and we couldn’t be prouder to stock these wonderful instruments!

Thanks to Slingerland and all its associated brands, as well as all the people who braved the rain to come check it all out! We appreciate you!! Danny Farrugia is also one of the best drummers in Oz, and if you haven’t checked out his playing, you need to right now!!!!

RHYTHM SECTION DRUMMING CELEBRATES 40 YEARS!

We are thrilled to announce the release of Rhythm Section Drumming – 40th Anniversary Special Edition!

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that RSD would reach this incredible 40-year milestone. It’s truly overwhelming and humbling to reflect on this journey.

Released on September 20th, 1985 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Rhythm Section Drumming was the first book of its kind in the world, featuring drum and bass rhythms, summaries, and arrangements covering Rock, Latin, Funk, Latin Rock, and odd time signatures.
RSD has been a tremendous success worldwide and has become an integral part of HSC and VCE music examinations throughout Australia. To celebrate this memorable milestone, the 19 play-along tracks (minus drums and bass) are now available for download on Spotify and other streaming services.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest and most heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the students, teachers, and colleagues who have embraced and utilized RSD over the many years. Your support, dedication, and passion for drumming education have made this journey possible and meaningful beyond measure.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for being part of this incredible 40-year legacy.

Here’s to the next generation of drummers who will continue to benefit from the diverse content RSD has to offer!
