Lord, as this day comes to an end, I place myself, my children, my family, my home, my work and everything You have entrusted to me into Your hands.
Protect us from jealousy, gossip, lies and words spoken with the intention to hurt. Protect us from people who speak about lives they know nothing about, from false stories, hidden intentions and hearts that find comfort in tearing another person down.
But Lord, I also pray for them.
Where there is jealousy, bring contentment.
Where there is bitterness, bring healing.
Where there is gossip, bring silence and wisdom.
Where there is anger, bring peace.
And where someone feels the need to hurt another person in order to feel better about themselves, please soften their heart.
Open their eyes to see that another person’s blessings do not take anything away from their own.
Because nothing meant for us comes by luck. Every door You open, every blessing You send, every mountain You help us climb and every good thing that finds its way into our lives comes through Your hands.
What You have written for us cannot be taken away by somebody else’s words.
So tonight, Lord, I choose not to carry the weight of what people say. You know the truth. You know our hearts. You know what happens behind closed doors, the sacrifices nobody sees, the battles nobody knows about and the prayers that came before the blessings.
Panagia, our Holy Mother, cover us beneath your loving veil. Protect our children, our homes, our families and the work of our hands. Intercede for us and for those who may not wish us well.
And Lord, guard my heart too. Don’t allow their behaviour to make me bitter. Keep me kind. Keep me humble. Keep me focused on You.
What is from You will remain.
What You have blessed, no gossip can undo. And what You have planned for each one of us will arrive in Your perfect time.
