There are many beautiful gemstones in this world, each with its own story.
Yet we feel incredibly fortunate to spend our days searching for Australia's national gemstone — opal.

While our return to the fields has been delayed this season, it has only reminded us how much we cherish what we do and how grateful we are for the opportunity to work amongst the red dirt of Wee Warra.

There is something special about standing on country, knowing that beneath your feet lie treasures that Mother Nature has spent millions of years creating. No two opals are ever the same. Each is a unique masterpiece of colour, light, and time.
We have immense respect for the land we mine and never take for granted the privilege of uncovering these remarkable gifts of nature.

As much as we have enjoyed sharing our opals and jewellery with you all this year, we can't wait to return to Wee Warra, fire up the machinery, move the earth once again, and see what incredible stories Mother Nature has waiting for us beneath the surface.

Until then, we remain grateful for the journey and excited for what lies ahead.

What a truly special day in Sydney as we celebrated the very first private in-home Opals To You Experience.

Surrounded by wonderful company, heartfelt conversations, and a shared appreciation for the beauty of Australian opal, we had the privilege of unveiling our brand-new Wee Warra Outback Collection — handcrafted leather pieces brought together with our incredible national gemstone from the fields we proudly call home.

There was something incredibly special about watching guests connect with opal in such a personal way — many discovering a whole new love and appreciation for the colours, stories, and magic hidden within each stone.

A very heartfelt thank you to our beautiful host Janelle for opening your home to us and allowing us to share our passion, our story, and a little piece of the Australian outback with such an amazing group of people. Your warmth and generosity made the entire experience unforgettable.

This was more than simply showcasing jewellery and opals — it was the beginning of something very special for us at Opals To You, and we are so grateful to everyone who shared the day with us. ✨

What Is Seam Opal?
🌏 A Hidden Ribbon Beneath the Red Dirt…
Deep beneath the red earth of the Grawin Opal Fields, just outside Lightning Ridge, nature has been quietly creating something extraordinary for millions of years.
It’s called seam opal.
Unlike nobby opal, which forms in rounded pockets, seam opal develops in natural veins and ribbons running through the host rock. Sometimes it appears as the faintest line in the wall… and sometimes it suddenly reveals a glowing band of electric green, gold or even flashes of red.
In our family mines, discovering a seam is one of the most exciting moments in mining.
Because you never truly know what lies beneath — until the earth opens.
Every seam is different.
Every discovery is a privilege.
