Next week it's Australian Pollinator Week, and honestly, any excuse to talk about bees is a good one. We love the fabrics with bees and bugs scattered through them, the ones that feel like a garden in print. They're cheerful without being loud, and there's something lovely about stitching something that celebrates the tiny workers doing the real work. The perfect way to end a week of flowers, celebrate their best friends! Let’s celebrate the bees!

The shop is open today! 10am - 4pm! Kerry might be yawning a bit after a huge week of farm work, packing orders and picking up fabric as well as days setting up and organising the Penola show! There has been some new fabrics, quilt patterns and cross stitch patterns, so pop on in for a browse (the weather is better today for a drive too!). Next week we are expecting more new fabrics including the much anticipated Lori Holt ‘Denim & Daisies’! So stay tuned! It’s also a good time to start thinking about stashing away some Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers! Drop those hints to your beloved about gift vouchers! Happy sewing!

We had fun today getting all the entries set up for the Penola Show 2026! There’s so many delicious and gorgeous things on display! You might spot some items from the shop too!
The shop is closed today but online orders are always open! Normal Sunday hours tomorrow and Kerry would love to see you!

At the Penola Show this weekend, you will see an amazing floral display in the main hall! It really is something to stand at the door and take a deep breath of the fragrance from all the stunning roses! This Fri and Saturday roll up and enjoy all the fabulous flora, baked goods, produce and craft! Kerry and I will be looking after craft and produce with the lovely Nancy, so come along and say hi!

We love a pretty floral Wideback and it seems we have a few in stock! There’s very vintage florals and bright modern florals! Something to tempt you for all styles of quilts! Who says the back of your quilt has to be plain? Jazz it up with florals or, make a wholecloth quilt with one gorgeous Wideback front and another on the back!

Everything's coming up flowers this week!
The Penola Show is on this Friday and Saturday, and the main Pavillion is always bursting with flowers. The scent is amazing! This time of year is when our gardens are blooming and looking their best, and with the best of the district florals on show this weekend, we can’t stop thinking about floral fabrics! Roses, daisies, ditsy florals, bold and bright, there is endless variety and we have a huge variety in-store! Don’t forget floral quilt patterns and floral cross stitch patterns! This gorgeous quilt was made by our lovely friend and neighbour Marion and held up by the fabulous Jenn of Little Bool Flowers in Bool Lagoon (just around the corner from us on Saturdays!). We just had to take the photo in the field of beautiful flowers at Jenn’s house! Thank you Marion and Jenn! Quilted by Tranquilitee quilting in Naracoorte! Stunning!
