You may have seen our pictures lately of our local treasure, Bool Lagoon Game Reserve! Bool Lagoon is just down the road from the shop, and it’s one of those places of quiet natural beauty. It’s a wetland sanctuary full of diverse birdlife, wide skies, and peace. It’s wonderful for a walk to reset the body, take a deep breath and calm the mind. The birdlife and frogs sound amazing thanks to the recent wet weather!

Next door to our shop is also a fantastic bird museum - called The Birdroom. Open by appointment, it is a must for bird enthusiasts and children as it is a fantastic collection representing the wildlife of the region and more!

If you’re looking for another great stop on your Bool Lagoon adventure, not far from our shop and located in another shearers quarters is the beautiful - Hare and Thistle. Specialising in antique furniture and homewares - it is a hidden gem that predominately has an on-line presence, but you can visit by appointment!

What a couple of days! We packed up the car to the roof with fabrics galore and headed to the SA Quilter’s September meeting! The team at SA Quilter’s is always so welcoming and helpful! Unloaded the goodies and the doors were opened! Chaos, lively conversation, choosing, comparing, thinking, imagining and delighting! We got to listen to the amazing Zara Zannettino give a talk about her art quilts (mind blowing talent!) and Kerry gave a quick talk about Jelly Roll Day and Kim Diehl’s up-coming ‘Simple What Not’s’ club for 2027! The next day we were excited to finally get to visit Claire at The Stitch Saloon in Magill! Such a heavenly shop, full of beautiful fabrics, haberdashery and patterns! Highly recommend her beautiful selections, inspirational style and friendly service! We couldn’t help ourselves and left with a few divine purchases! Kerry will be unpacking the car and rearranging the shop this weekend, we’d love to see you! Stat warm and dry!

Classic Spring favourites! The Chicken Caddy by Ric Rac Designs is such a favourite and looks very cute in Creating Memories Spring fabrics! Just arrived is the new Ric Rac pattern, ‘Dolly & Jean’! Chicken heaven! There’s plenty of great Spring cross stitch patterns like this Puntini Puntini Spring Animal Trio and the Spring Chickens Pinkeep by Stacy Nash and irresistible quilt patterns like Flower Girl by Thimble Blossoms! There’s no season quite as inspiring as Spring! Happy sewing and stitching!

Flowery quilts are a classic topic for all quilt designers and there is no shortage of Spring inspiration among them! Freshen up your decor with a little floral Spring Quilty love!

We are heading off to the SA Quilters meeting tomorrow night at the Burnside Community Centre! Starts at 7:15 pm and we will have a table literally heaving with fat quarters, fat eighths and many other goodies! We’d love to meet you, so pop on over and say hi!

Just in time for Spring! My Secret Garden by Stacy Iest Hsu was inspired by her love of flowers. The collection is a celebration of flower gardens and all who inhabit them, featuring prints of vintage roses, flower seed packets, bunnies, butterflies and more. Sweet pinks, blues, yellows and greens make this a great spring season range. The My Secret Garden Bunny Cottage Panel is too cute to be true! Make someone’s dram come true this Spring!

Spring has begun its glorious entrance and the world seems fresher and brighter already! It’s the perfect time to reach for florals and chicks, lambs and soft colours!
