Thank you Perth!

Last week we posted a plea for more volunteers.
We have had an absolutely OVERWHELMING response.
Its’ humbling to see how many Perthites are willing and eager to help London Court Books!

We had four spots to fill but - to date - have received over 270 applications! Within just a few weeks we expect to have all shifts filled and even have a reserve list of trained people able to back up our existing vollies.

Honestly we had expected perhaps a dozen people to respond.
This has been an incredible response and we want you to know it doesn’t end here.
Those of you who have applied but not yet been contacted can expect an email soon detailing other opportunities to volunteer in London Court Books and Museum of Perth.

But for now we just want to express our gratitude to this amazing city. And especially to you dear reader for making this happen.
Your likes and shares are what made this blow up so quickly and we can't thank you enough.

London Court Books needs your help!

For over 10 years Museum of Perth has been a resource, a destination, and a haven for any and all fans of Perth History.
And London Court Books is one of the main reasons it is able to continue its mission of preserving and presenting these unique stories to the public.

As some of you may have noticed London Court Books is not always open when we say we will be. This is an unfortunate consequence of being an entirely volunteer-run business.
But being staffed by volunteers is a huge privilege. It means we run on the love of a team of wonderful, impassioned individuals.
But of course life happens and even our wonderful volunteers are only human; they need to cancel last minute or leave us permanently for any number of reasons.

Which meaning we are always on the look out for new, dedicated people willing to volunteer their time in our charming little store in the heart of the C*D.

If you have an undying passion for books, if you have a need to fill up your resume with retail experience, or if you just want to be out in the world talking to people about the books you love: then I have a unique opportunity for you.

🐾 Lockie, the famous city dog, stopped by the bookshop on Friday for a little sniff about! 📚✨

He certainly knows a good story when he smells one — maybe he was checking out a new book by Sandra Ruddle! And served by our amazing Volunteer Richard Nieuwhof

Always lovely to have such a well-known visitor in store. 🐶

Hasn’t everyone coveted the idea of working in a tiny bookstore, whiling away the hours reading, talking about books and listening to music?

London Court Books is looking for volunteers to fill a few shifts in our little shop, at 51 London Court. This could be your new desk!

London Court Books is run entirely by volunteers, with all proceeds supporting the Museum of Perth.
