We had a fantastic time on Monday night celebrating with for the launch of The Escape Game!

With an enthralled crowd, Tamara took us through the intricacies as writing with another author, her USA tour, how they came up with the puzzles and so much more.

Our own Bri says of The Escape Game: "I absolutely flew through this book. What starts as a high stakes escape room competition quickly spirals into something far darker. The puzzles are clever, the tension never lets up, and every character feels like they're hiding something."

Get your hands on one of the limited signed copies in store now.

Congratulations Tamara on a fabulous book and thank you for holding your launch with us!

More about The Afterlife of Harry Playford:
Queenscliff, Victoria, 1951: A man has disappeared, leaving only a pile of neatly folded clothes on a beach. Missing, presumed drowned. But for Detective Sergeant Stephen Minter, newly emigrated from England, it's far from an open-and-shut case. Because this is no ordinary man. Harry Playford is a successful politician, a charming man who is a rising ministerial star, a possible contender for the top job, who leaves behind a beautiful wife - and a mistress. There could be a simple explanation. But, these murky days of the Cold War, in a time of rising mistrust and suspicion, spies and espionage, Stephen can't throw off his feeling that something's definitely not right. About the whole business.
From one of Australia's finest, most critically acclaimed writers, The Afterlife of Harry Playford is an absorbing, poignant and moving novel of hard choices and past mistakes.

Last night our first book club for this month met to discuss last month's read - M.L. Stedman's sweeping family saga, A Far-Flung Life.

It was a rare bookclub in which most members were united in their feelings about the story and it's characters. While the first half of the book definitely felt dark and heavy with lots of tragedy, the second half certainly held a lot more hope.

We also revealed this month's book club book last night - Evelyn Clarke's The Ending Writes Itself. When six struggling authors are invited to a private island to write the ending of a famous author's final book and compete to win a new publishing contract and a hefty cash prize to boot, it might just be an opportunity worth killing for!

Tickets for our first meet on Monday 1st of June are available to book now in store or at boundlessbooks.com.au.

We look forward to seeing you for the discussion!

Anthea Hodgson is back with a brand new historical drama based on the chilling true story of a crime in the West Australian goldfields.
We're thrilled to be hosting in conversation with on Monday 1st June at Evergreens in Leederville! Come along to hear them talk about the inspiration behind The Palace of Lost Virtue before getting your books signed.

More about The Palace of Lost Virtue:
In 1898, Marigold Harrington arrives on the goldfields of Western Australia with conviction in her heart. The daughter of a prospector and a proud member of the Christian Women’s Temperance Union, she dreams of rescuing women the gold rush has forgotten, those trapped in the shadows of brothels and bars.
Across town, Pansy Arlington presides over the Palace of Pleasure, her own small empire built from ruin. When Marigold arrives at her door, offering God’s forgiveness, Pansy surprises her with unexpected kindness.
The two women spark an unlikely friendship, but in a rough, lawless town built on greed and desire, their bond will be tested by betrayal, violence and a crime that will echo through the years.
Inspired by true events and the real women of the gold rush, The Palace of Lost Virtue dares to rewrite history books, giving voice to the lives of the formidable women who lived and died in the goldfields.
By the bestselling author of The War Nurses, this is a lively and colourful tale about loyalty, forgiveness and freedom.

Movie and book lovers we've got a very special giveaway for you!

Thanks to our friends at and we've got two double passes to a special advanced screening of H is for Hawk on Wednesday 13th May at 4.30pm at Luna Leederville which will be followed by a virtual Q&A with author Helen McDonald. Each double pass also comes with a copy of Helen McDonald's book which the movie is based on.

To win, simply tag a person you would want to take with you and tell us a bird that shares the first letter of their name: e.g. Helen: H is for Hawk!

Entries close Friday 8th May at 5pm.

More about H is for Hawk:
As a child, Helen Macdonald was determined to become a falconer, learning the arcane terminology and reading all the classic books. Years later, when their father died and they were struck deeply by grief, they became obsessed with the idea of training their own goshawk. They bought Mabel for ÂŁ800 on a Scottish quayside and took her home to Cambridge, ready to embark on the long, strange business of trying to train this wildest of animals.

H is for Hawk is an unflinchingly honest account of Macdonald's struggle with grief during the difficult process of the hawk's taming and their own untaming. This is a book about memory, nature and nation, and how it might be possible to reconcile death with life and love.

The movie adaptation, starring Claire Foy as Helen McDonald, is a soaring journey of the connection between people and nature, also starring Brendan Gleeson.
