Cute, whimsical creations for the young and young at heart. I was taught to crochet by my Grandmother. She taught me the basic stitches and how to turn them into a pot holder or trivet. Going from flat to 3D (amigurumi) crochet has been a lot of fun and something that I have taught myself with the help of the internet and a few books. I am formally educated with a MSc in Environmental Management a
nd have a love for upcycling. This shines through in my sustainable range of crochet items which can be identified by the little logo on the photo. My sustainable range is crafted from yarns that have been purchased at op shops or from craft destash pages on Facebook. All my stuffed toys are filled with stuffing made in Australia from recycled water bottles. This avoids the need for new raw materials. The sustainable range also includes my range of baskets made from t-shirt yarn. T-shirt yarn is made from fabric remnants (edges and off cuts) that would usually go to landfill. Turning remnants into chunky yarn is an effective way to give the product a second life.
