An evening at Jurien Bay, WA
Watercolour

It was cold and windy, and the sun was just about to set over the water, creating a perfect ambiance for a walk along the beach, but i was more fascinated with the bushes and plants illuminated by the sun's rays on the trees and dune plants at Jurien Bay.

My most memorable trip.

Returning to a familiar travel destination offers a distinct experience and although recapturing its atmosphere can be elusive, painting allows me to reconnect with the excitement and emotion that I felt at first sight.

The Murchison, Kalbarri, WA
Watercolour

It seemed like a gentle stream, from my vantage point, posing a profound question, and inviting me to reflect on my presence as the sunlight danced across its surface beneath the cloud cover. The Murchison, actually a powerful force, being the second largest river in Western Australia , flowed beneath, through the sandstone cliffs carving its way into the Indian Ocean, a truly uplifting sight and feeling, I would behold only later. Although recapturing its atmosphere can be elusive, painting it has allowed me to reconnect with the excitement and emotion that I felt at first sight.

Pink Lake at Gregory, WA

I had only heard about Western Australia's renowned Pink Lakes. When I actually visited the Pink lake at Gregory on my return from Kalbarri a couple of years ago I was amazed by it. I was informed that the lakes appear intensely pink solely when the sky is clear and cloudless, but I was delighted to find that the partly cloudy conditions added an extra layer of picturesque charm to the scene. Moreover, the clouds had also taken on a pink and violet hue, creating an enchanting visual effect that seemed to blend the colours of the sky and water.

A small watercolour study of Cape Le National Grand Park, which I visited last year.

I've never been one for the sea, preferring trees, bushes, and hills, but the view of Thistle Cove at Cape Le Grand National Park was nothing short of spectacular, boasting a beautiful bay with white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water. I just loved it.

Beyond the Hill.
Watercolour

The beautiful Meanarra hill look out at Kalbarri proved to be the perfect spot for capturing the scenic Murchison River as it flowed into the Indian Ocean. While I did miss the opportunity to see the view at sunset, when it appears most spectacular, I was satisfied to have seen it when the sun was still high, with the white and reddish rocks making a striking impression against the green, and the ocean shining with a luminosity akin to that of a diamond.
I have enjoyed painting it as much as i enjoyed viewing it .

At Chittering,WA
Watercolour

The hike at Didji Didji ridge at Chittering, WA, was slated to last 45 minutes but it took me more than an hour as I invariably found myself lingering to revel in the splendor of the trail adorned with grass trees and wildflowers overlooking the valley which looked like a kaleidoscope of greens but a hike without complaints is amiss , so I must tell you about the industrious ants and flies. The ants were more keen on exploring my footwear and flies which kept distracting me from the gorgeous landscape. Overall it was a beautiful day and an unforgettable hike.
